Chapter 24: Diagnosis Unknown

With both Surge and Scourge enraged, the need to separate them was impending.
“We already have the location of it,” Surge said menacingly. “I’ll fuckin’ go and see for myself if you don’t start giving me my god damn answers!”
“Go ahead,” Scourge remarked, “you’ll find nothin’.” Surge and Shadow both winced. “I burnt that shit to the ground years ago.”
“What!?”
Scourge chuckled and slowly reverted. “Yes, go ahead and see for yourselves,” he gave a smirk. “Apparently you don’t know who the fuck I am,” he continued. “I am the King here. I make the rules. Don’t let the fact that I dont have a billion dollar mansion fool you. I live modestly compared to the other kings and I’m ok with that. But I am still the fuckin’ boss here. I’m the one who gives the orders and everyone has to abide. Don’t fuckin’ think for a second that you’ll put me down just cause you thought you found somethin’.”
Surge felt defeated, and Shadow growled, “You overlooked the fact that you were born with blue quills.” Scourge’s face twitched.
“What,” Surge asked surprised. She didnt know that he was born with blue quills, now it made sense.
“Scourge only turned green when he touched the Master Emerald, other than that he was just ‘Anti-Sonic’. A pitiful alternate copy of Sonic,” Shadow informed.
Scourge gave a death glare, “I’m more than he could ever dream to be.”
Shadow met his glare, “I agree, I can give credit where it’s due.”
‘Holy fuck he agreed with me!?’
“You’ve overcome turmoils that he could truly never have the ability to come to terms with.”
Scourge hadn’t been acknowledged like that before from anyone in Sonic’s zone.
“But I also know that the blue Hedgehog she keeps seeing is, in fact, your father. The Anti-Jules as they refer to him in my zone.”
“Shadow please.” Amy said shakily.
“I don’t know what happened to your father, but obviously the topic alone is over-bearing to you … I will say this, I hope his disappearance wasn’t caused by you or your team. I couldn’t imagine ending someone I loved and having their blood on my hands for the rest of my existence.”
The shock of the situation for both Amy and Surge was unfathomable. “You killed your own father?” Surge asked with a broken spirit.
Scourge stared at the ground in silence. He wasn’t sure what to say in that moment and the slices of pain started from trying not to fall apart.
Surge started, “Then that means that Blair is-“
Scourge immediately turned Super and had Surge by her throat, “I told you NOT TO SAY THAT NAME IN MY FUCKIN’ HOUSE!”
“STOP!” Amy screamed. “SCOURGE STOP!” She got in between the two and pushed his arm away. Surge had fallen to the floor shaking. Shadow zipped to her side. Scourge couldn’t see Amy at all and seemed to stare right through her. “WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING!?” He didn’t answer, so she raised her hand to slap him. Mid-swing, Scourge caught her hand before she could make contact. Shadow hit him hard enough from the other side making him come out of his trance.
“Get it together Scourge!” Shadow yelled. “We know it’s your mother and you’re paying to have it hushed.
Scourge turned his black and red eyes to him. “Oh yea,” he chuckled, “and what’re you gonna do about it?”
“We could expose you for the fuckin’ monster you are,” Shadow taunted. “Would explain why the people who take care of her and her alone get paid so much more than the rest of the staff. Not to mention that there are only certain people who are assigned to her.”
Scourge’s eyes narrowed on him while Amy helped Surge to her feet.
“Look at you. Obviously if you’re this defensive about it, something has been done. What did she say she’d sell you out so you’d become overthrown by your people? Keep her comatose to keep her quiet?”
“No,” Surge mustered lightly. “No he’s not.”
“Huh?” Amy looked at her
“What do you mean?” Shadow raised a brow as Scourge looked over to her.
Jules appeared next to Surge, but she was the only one who could see him. “You need to understand, she needs to be where she is.” Surge didn’t understand, but it was enough to subside the situation. “Please forgive my son.” He was gone in the blink of an eye.
“I just … remembered something,” she rubbed her neck. “I’m sorry I said her name Scourge. I think I’m going to leave with Shadow.”
Shadow looked back at Scourge with a glare, “I’ll bury you if you touch either one of them like that again. We’re going to get to the bottom of this.” He walked over to Amy, “you coming with us?”
She looked over at Scourge, “As much as I shouldn’t … I’ll stay here.”
“Suit yourself.” He responded and transmitted out with Surge.
Amy glared at Scourge, “what the hell was that!? If that’s the man you are I wont have anything to do with you!”
He was still in his Super form, “If that’s they type of man you think I am, you can leave.”
“Excuse me,” she hollered at him as he turned around to walked to the kitchen. He started to pour himself a hard drink, “You heard what I fuckin’ said.” He’d had a soft but stern tone about him. Without looking at her he picked up his glass and proceed to his bedroom, “There’s the door.”
Stunned, she didn’t know what to do. She had driven herself in case she needed to leave, but she had never had anyone tell her to leave like that. The situation that ensued had deeper roots than she knew, and the man she had just seen wasn’t the man she had dinner with last night. She heard something that sounded like a medicine bottle in his bedroom with him coming back out after, “you’re still here?”
“Yes, is that a problem?”
His black and red eyes looked easy at her, “just an observation.” He walked passed her and down a long hallway. She could feel the energy coming off of him.
‘Where’s he going? Is he mixing his medicine and alcohol?’ She looked over and seen his bedroom door open. ‘Hmm.’ She went into his room and seen his medicine on his dresser. Xanax, Anti-psychotic, Anti-depressant, Amphetamine Salt. ‘Holy shit, he wasn’t lying. What the hell is BPD?’ A mix of emotions felt like a hurricane in her chest. She looked around to see where he went, to see if he was ok. Creeping around she didnt want to startle him but she couldn’t find him. She’d found a spare bedroom, a library, and a room that looked like it was designed for kids. She came up on a closed door and she could smell smoke coming from it. In a quick panic she opened it and then exhaled in relief. She walked into what looked like something she would find in a distant land. He had managed to have a small pool of water with steps that led up to it in a room made entirely of marble. There were four pillars with a bowl of fire on top near each corner of the pool with plants that surrounded the perimeter. He had flowers that he trimmed floating in the water. Stairs that led to a loft above that had an area to sit and relax. Rectangles cut out on the walls by the roof with screens for a natural air flow were the only windows. It was a somewhat dark room for being daylight outside and having 4 fire pits lit. He popped up out of the water startling her still in his Super form. She watched the water run down his face and body that left her breathless. His eyes were cold but easy as he sat back and rested his elbows on the edges beside him.
