Thoughts on Klonoa x Huepow content? (replies appreciated)

I mean I understand why. It's because a large portion of people hate Huepow due to what he did in the game, or just because they find him silly looking and or annoying. Plus he's not anthro so there's not much people really wanna do with him in their art.

I'd like to draw more Klonoa x Huepow stuff in the future, because they're like childhood friends and I enjoy that sort of thing. And also I actually enjoy that Huepow looks silly.

If anybody reads this, let me know your honest thoughts on that matter and if you think I should or shouldn't go through with making more.

I'm ambiguous on Huepow, myself, so I don't mind either way. I think the way you've depicted him so far has worked well! Some on both sides might even say the role of sweat slurping foot gremlin suits him. p: But at the end of the day? Draw what feels good and what you enjoy! No sense in trying to cater to people who don't share your interests.

while yeah, I understand the perspective of it being cool to just do what you want and not care who youre catering to, I do also want to take into account what the people Im drawing for want.

So I'll mostly be drawing what I want to (and that means more Klonoa x Huepow in the future), but I also wanna know where the general future audience of my klonoa stuff stands on this subject, just to know what to do better for them.

Also yeah one of my friends who said he hates Huepow basically said the same thing as you where they were like "I mean I dont like Huepow but him being gross just kind of fits him because of that" haha.

Thank you for giving me feedback on the journal!

Ahh gotcha, I see what you mean. I guess what I'm saying is, rather than being concerned for a future audience that may want things different from your preferences, the idea could be that by drawing what you want from the start, you'll then attract a future audience that wants the same things.

But yeah, just some food for thought! With art like yours, you’ll take off in no time either way, haha. I’d just hate to see you wind up in a vicious cycle where you're hesitant to draw what you like because the audience keeps wanting something else!

Alright, I'll just do what I want from the start then, like you've said.

I suppose I'm a little to preoccupied by thinking of ways to boost my audience from the get-go, because I've had experience building multiple social medias in the past.

Now that I'm thinking about it, then maybe I should just make this one more about what I want than what the people want from me.
