I went and Saw Brave last Sunday and I gotta say, I loved it. Ill start by saying it may not be the best of Pixar in my opinion, but its a strong contender. let me tell you some more about it
Story: I am gonna say that Pixar did a wonderful job in the recent Trailers for it that the story did not turn out the way I thought it was going to be, so will tell you what I know about some of it (dont want to spoil now would I?) Well their is this girl named Merida tires of being a princess and wants to become an archer. Her mother forbids it but throughout the movie she learns to understand her daughter wants to be an archer.
Characters: The characters in this movie were just fun. Merida (Kelly Macdonald) is a teenaged princess who strives to become the best archer in her land. Her father King Fergus (Bill Connoly, Mcsquizzy in Open Season, and Uncle Montey in a Series of Unfortunate events) is a giant easy going king of the land and is very understanding of his daughter. the Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson) is Merida mother and is quite against her daughters wishes. Lord Machintosh (Craig Ferguson, wow, three animated films since 2010) is one of three lords who has brought his son to the kingdom to try to win Marida's hand in Marrage.
Animation: Id have to say that the landscape in the film looks finomenal. and the characters definatly all looks cool and silly in their own way. their are three things I compare this film to. The animation is similar to How to Train your Dragon (another scotish themed film kind of) and Tangled. andf the third thing is that Marida looks kind of like Jane (http://www.google.com/imgres?q=Jane+and+the+Dragon&...) from the Nelvana (Care Bears, Babar, Pippi Longstocking) series Jane and the Dragon
Music: the music was nicely done. its got a scottish feel to it. all done by Patrick Doyle (Quest for Camelot, Harry Potter and Goblet of Fire, Rise of the Planet of the Apes)
all in all, I give this film an 8.5 out of ten. Like I said, its not Pixars best, but its very good none the less. give it a look.
