So I read a thing recently about 28 U S Republicans who refer to gay people as "innate child sexual predators or groomers" voted against a bill protecting survivors of child sex Abuse.
First the, the bill passed regardless in the house so no qualms there.
Now let me break down how stupid and hypocritical this is.
First this is an argument that goes back to the 60's and 70s when gay rights were fought for. We had political parties and people demonizing gay people and saying "if we don't stop them then they will corrupt our children to become homosexual deviants and perverts". I believe it was the late Harvey milk who countered that with "there are more than enough laws to protect children, and if it were true that children imitated there teachers, we'd have a hell of a lot more nuns running around" its just plain fear mongering, or in this day and age,terrorism.
Second, I hate the term "grooming" or "groomers". You go to a beauty salon or barber shop for grooming, or you do that in the bathroom when you brush your hair or shave. Grooming isn't a term that belongs in sex really but that's society for you.
And the sheer hypocrisy, one of these "gay groomer conspiracy" Republicans husband was apparently arrested a few years ago for exposing himself to teens in a bowling alley bathroom. I could say a lot here but there's plenty of self evident reasons for just how stupid these people are.
I could go on but I'm curious to see how everyone feels about this.
