Telegram discord pondering

A while back I had a discord server for posting arts and socializing with a handful of furs and I ended up deleting it since discord went nuclear on cub art servers for a moment and i didn't want anyone to get banned or something stupid. It also wasn't the most populated place so I assumed interest was extremely low.

A few furs have reached out and asked if I planned to bring it back, which at first I wasn't but I'm considering it now! I wanted to ask if anyone had any insight as to whether discord has calmed down on witch hunting NSFW servers and the like.

My other option is telegram. I like telegram, but its always struck me as limited in these regards compared to discord.

What do yuh think?

Telegram is fantastic. It isn't as organized as Discord, but I love how lightweight and not-Discord it is!

It comes down to personal choice and use in my opinion... I have both but tend to stay on discord for most things as it's functionally way better and easier to use as well as works (for me) faster, better, and doesn't require a phone  (which I prefer not to use)
On the other hand, the freedom on telegram is obviously way better.

Which leaves two options when using discord...either use it for certain topics only and have a separate telegram to share certain things on, or invite only people you trust. Because as long as no one reports it, I haven't seen anyone get banned for it yet  (not that I doubt they'll get better image search tech to eventually pinpoint all things they don't like...)

Just an opinion though, as I'm sure you'll hear lots of preferences from both sides

Discord still nukes groups like that IF they find it, so as long as you get no trouble makers you will be fine.

Seems like telegram is the best. There are bots to use on it as well, so you can still do some automating. Down side is that there isn't as much of a UI for making separate channels for specific themes (Selfies, memes, art uploads, etc...).

Otherwise I would not post cub related things in my server. As long as I get to hang out and talk with friends then I'd feel it's not that important. I have Inkbunny after all!

I host both Discord and Telegram for different reasons, mostly since I thought Telegram would be limited for certain thing also, but I found that I use it a lot more at least in terms of my adult audience compared to my discord server. Things didn't really get in the way as much as I thought they would on telegram.

Discord is more organized and less prone to automated spam, but you just kind of have to hope you don't get whacked with the banstick (which is frankly quite rare in my experience)

Telegram is 'safer' in the banning aspect but awful organization, and in my experience you get random spammers showing up if you advertise the group link.

Telegram for long-term certainly but its more limited usage/popularity compared to Discord will generally cut down on activity.

On Telegram you can just set the invite link to require admin approval. Or use bots like Calsi that allow a pre-verify (captcha before you can actually join). Both work very well from personal experience.

telegram is way more lenient with file sizes. You dont have to buy a nitro service to upload decent .pngs so thats a huge plus

Not sure if telegram is a good alternative, Signal should be better if its possible there. Its encrypted and they don't seem to be that interested in what people do there.

Telegram is widely accessable and usable. It does have its flaws, but it's doable.
