I have a question for the community and any answers will be helpful... I know what a troll is but I hope these questions will not put me off as one...

I need to know if there are any others out there that use Bamboo...

I have the one thats about 130$ have it and everything that came with it NO FRIGIN CLUE how to use it...
I have taken a couple college classes on drawing but... bamboos are a little harder to use than some of the medias.... I have mostly used charcoals and pastels i don't even use CP that much i love hand blending char's and past's together but i can't figure out how to do it on my bamboo...

If you do use bamboo...
I would like tips...
Idea's
how do i use the blender program i know is there....

I don't want secrets.... I just want some help because not knowing makes me sad....

Using your Bamboo depends on the program you're using it with. The tablet is just a tool, that when combined with the brush selected in the program, allows you to draw using more realistic movements, and also uses pressure sensitivity.

Having said that, some programs such as Paint Tool SAI have a stabilizer, which really helps for doing line work. Some brushes behave much differently than others. If you like blending colors/shades you may want to try using a watercolor brush, or tossing down some globs of color and experimenting with other brushes or settings on brushes.

I mostly just do simple coloring with my tablet so I can't really offer too much input.

thanks for the love... i love the winking face... so bunny like... anyway... I have Manga Deluxe Studio Debut 4.0 Autodesk Sketchbook and Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 the last 2 came with the Bamboo Dock program... so much to learn so much time to bang head over lol...

I went through and read all the comments/responses so far. Basically just experiment until you get comfortable with something. For the most part, all the programs have similarities. So once you learn to use one of them, you can apply that knowledge to another.

Just play around with the different brushes, until you find ones that work the way you like. The ones for blending are often either a watercolor brush, or a paint brush with blending options. Almost always the brushes have their own settings, so make sure to play with them. Put down some solid color blobs, then pick the brush you want with a different color, and see if it blends with the blob (like smearing it around, or mixing the colors, etc.).

Hope that helps a little bit. If not, try messaging one of the other artists on here for tips. A lot of them are real friendly, and can give better advice.

Have second Paint Tool SAI it works amazingly with my tablet. Before while I found the tablet handy I was always more comfortable drawing and inking by hand that I was using the tablet.

yes i copy pasted my ear has been ringing and wow it hurts so thinking is not 100% functionable... thanks for taking the time to talk to me guys I've never inked... Most of the time I use pencils.. and well a lot of charcoal but its real hard to scan and work with charcoal... i have some micro pens... and lots of cheap sharpy markers but most often use erasables...any tips are helpful so thanks you guys never heard of paint tool SAI is that an i or an lowercase L?

Your welcome, honestly I took me forever to get use to my tablet. It was only after I bought my second tablet to replace my older one that start using it regularly. One thing that really helps it making sure your tablet matches your screen as much as possible. If you have a wide format screen a wide format tablet will serve you better. Lastly just stick with it, it will take time, but you will start to get hand of it as long you keep using it regularly.

Well i have an Asus 973JW Wide screen and my Capture is a wide screen based object... some people were telling me the easiest way to get used to the bamboo was to use it in place of a mouse for regular daily tasks like email web browsing and even some games... I play LoL so i dunno if that would be a good game to use it on... but i really am trying to get used to i guess he positioning... now i do not have one of the really nice bamboo's like the intruos4 they look smexy but mine has 1024 pressures... and a sleek silver design hehe but i have a desire to own the Intruos 3 or 4... they are really expensive but i am sure well worth it...

Bwah since I had gotten my new tablet (intuos4) my Sai program's pressure won't work with it! I don't know why D: I hope that you wouldn't have any issues working with it. But it is a very popular program and almost every artist I like uses it X3; I used to use it till it broke, but my main software has always been Photoshop :3

I wouldn't really have a clue how to tell you how to blend since I actually never took any coloring classes ^__^;; But I pretty much just lower opacitys and slap on the colors, and sometimes use a softer brush to get a more soft shade look :) I like to use sketchbook for it's lines, but I haven't taken the time to experiment with coloring in that program yet either ;O!

67USD... ouch... the other programs i got with my Bamboo... adobe and paint and the manga only cost me 44.95 hmmm... might be a while before i can afford the SAI but at least there is the 31 day trial still 67 owie lol I wonder if Nini from Sakura net uses it for her Moe stuff... i wanna make my avatar... a little kitten girl with imp wings(small) and an succy tail(long with spade) could take a while... and i hate my scanner... its a bit..... touchy grr... damn multi platform copier systems... wheres that book...

I have been trying to play around with SAI... but I can't seem to get the eraser to work... there is a little tab that says eraser but when i try to use it i pen over the area to be erased rub my pad and nothing... any ideas? is that the wrong eraser... its the one under the tabs where pencil pen and airbrush are....

however this program looks real good i just have to start practicing with my board... I R SCARED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but i spent 129USD on it so... i might as well learn huh
