Not something that should have ever needed to happen

by
In light of recent events surrounding the future of 3D artwork on this site, I would like to give some insight from my side and give an update on my future plans.

First off, I find the rules very poorly written and enforced. Quality 3D work isn't something that can be done in a couple seconds. It takes many hours and days to get the the scene ready to render. Models(s) need to be placed and posed properly. Backgrounds need to be made/ sourced. Visual effects like DOF or fog need to be taken into account as well. Even then there is post work to consider. Like adding text to the image, color correction, and other visual changes. Claiming that these works are "spam" is beyond insulting to those that make them. Nothing from these artists was ever about spamming low quality/ low effort garbage. Each piece was meticulously put together over many hours with passion to create a visually impressive piece.

Secondly, I do know that there are some posts here that don't have the same amount of effort put into them. Those are pieces that I do agree feel quite samey and are essentially like using a basic outline for a ych that gets posted over and over. But, I don't see any high quality 2d artists getting banned due to an low effort drawings someone else posted. So why are 3d artists all being lumped together? There is a distinct and obvious difference between them.

Thirdly, The use of the same model rule is one that annoys me the most. It's like telling a 2d artist that you can't use the ref sheet to ANY character that they themselves don't own. Sure the models may be the same. But the pose, expression, lighting, and post editing is what a 3d artist does to give their work it's own identity and distinct visual look. Saying that you can't post anything with a shared 3d model is one of THE worst rulings I have ever heard. I personally know of a few people who have commissioned models of characters they came up with that costed well over $1000. They only allow those who do quality work to make renders with them. Yet you are now saying that they are no longer allowed to have anyone else besides themselves to do anything with those models on this site. Locking someone's OC to only the owner simply due to it existing in 3d is yet another very foolish and over simplified stance.
I think that covers most of my grievances with the decision on 3d content. As for what my plans are. I plan on staying here as long as IB will tolerate my existence. If i get bopped tomorrow so be it. If I never get touched so be it as well. But just to allow everyone here to keep in touch with me in case my account goes belly up, here's the link to my twitter https://twitter.com/zebjzz (mostly active there) and my FA https://www.furaffinity.net/user/zebjo/ (Kinda dead atm)

Best of luck to everyone. I truly wish it never had to come to this.

I usually keep the down low on stuff, but I'm AMAZED that they are doing to everyone here what FA did YEARS ago with this nonsense of 'you didn't make everything in the image there for you can't post it/it's not art/a crappy MSPaint doodle has more artistic merit then your work" crap.
