I've been struggling to find the time and especially focus to continue development on Redscale's Adventure. So when I accidentally let the hosting lapse (bank replaced the card, and I missed the notifications about the problem until it was too late), it left me needing to make a choice of how to proceed.
For the time being, my answer is to let it stay offline. There's a fair bit of work I need to do to get it back up, as well as the ongoing monthly expense. It'd be worth it if I were still actively developing (or just churning out content) but not if it's going to simply stay stuck at its current point.
I'm not entirely decided on what to do going forward. For a while now this project has been hanging over my head, making it more difficult to consider working on any other creative endeavors for fear of the guilt of leaving this one hanging. But I also do have a fairly expansive backlog of things I'd like to do to expand and improve this one. If I can get my mental health back to a state where I'm able to move forward productively again there's a strong chance I will return to Redscale's in one form or another.
For right now though I'm going to take a break, focus on work and family, and then get the ball rolling on something else.
Thank you all for taking the time to play my game while it was live, as well as those of you who tried the original, flash version. (That's still here on inkbunny if you can figure out how to run flash these days.)
