A Telegram and Barq user by the name Mitch (Telegram username @Mitch629) is actively engaging in scamming unsuspecting furs by alleging a "paid friendship". He purports to simply want someone to "talk to" and in return he will pay them $1000 bi-weekly. The scam begins when he first must "test your honesty" by sending you an obviously fake cheque and he will want you to wire him the money back via E-Transfer (which is non-reversible) before the cheque has a chance to bounce. Below is a copy/paste from a friend of the exchange, at which point he asked me if it was a scam. My friend's name has been changed to Alias Fakename to protect the innocent.
