My Writing Process

I've had a few questions about this and other things recently, so I figure now is a good time to let you all know just how I do things. Y'know, actually explain myself.

Commission slots
I know I only take a few commissions at a time. This is on purpose. If I were to open more slots than I do, I would find myself being overwhelmed. It has happened in the past. I do VERY much apologize to everyone that misses the limited window for these slots, but even at my stupid writing speed, I can only create so much before my brain juices dry up.

Many have also noticed that I change the status of said slots as things progress.
I like to do it this way, instead of just throwing someone's name and profile link up for many reasons. First, it lets you all know how I'm going. Second, a lot of people like to leave themselves as anonymous, since not everyone is okay telling the world their super odd death fetish. Understandable, and I respect that.

I shall now explain the meanings of what the updates mean.
Open: Means the slot is open and available.
Reserved: Means someone has claimed the spot, but we are still working out the details. It may open again for various reasons:
 - The idea doesn't fit with my style, or is something I'm not comfortable writing.
 - The person decided to back out for some reason (always an option, I don't judge)
 - The person that reserved the slot did not respond to tell me their idea within 24 hours of claiming, or went silent for more than 24 hours before we could really finish this necessary process. I understand that peoples schedules can be odd for talking about safely talking about porn, but I have a lot of people that want my services, so I do have to set this time limit. I can't let someone just sit on a slot for days without talking.
Claimed: Means we've finished working out the details and they have paid. This effectively locks down that slot for them.

On the profile page (mostly only applicable to FA profile):
Not Started: This means the slot is claimed and waiting on the list for me to start the story itself.
Writing: Means I'm currently writing the story.
Final Edit: I have finished the story, and shot it off to the commissioner. At this point, it's the back and forth between them and myself to make them happy (see process for more details)
Done: This means the story is finished, and has been posted to my Subscribe Star for the early access.
Posted: It is posted up public for everyone to enjoy!
Private: Story is done and finished, but was a private story. This bypasses the Subscribe Star phase, of course. Private means private.

Writing Process
I don't stick to a strict writing schedule, but instead work as I can, when I can, and however long I feel I can. Sometimes that means only a few paragraphs, sometimes that means I finish 2 stories in a day. Bit of a crap shoot. But I do work consistently to try and finish all stories within a month or so of getting paid.

First step is talking to whoever has reserved a slot. I will talk with you in private messages, get the idea that you have, then bounce back and forth with getting details, fleshing out the idea, and making sure you and I are okay with the overarching narrative. Plus I'll usually ask some details. Common questions are: species, age, name, fetishes to focus on, level of gore detail, and if cocks should be knotted or have sheaths (this one comes up a lot).

I always do it this way, contacting and getting details BEFORE you pay me anything, because of that off chance that the idea would not work, or because of some other reason. This way, there is no risk of someone feeling slighted on money if I have to turn it down and issue a refund. Also refunds are a real hassle for everyone involved.

Then I go off and start working on the stories. I will often be working on multiple stories at once, and bounce between them. It's an ADD thing. But I will try and work on the stories roughly in the order that they were paid. Typically, the Subscribe Star raffle winners are first on the list, as well if they also were to commission me. Another benefit of being a subscriber.

While writing, I may contact you in private to ask for other details that I forgot, or to clarify if some situation I wrote out works for you, or some other detail I want to make sure is okay with you if it was not touched on in our initial talks. Doesn't come up often, but it does sometimes. I will also contact you if it has been a few weeks since we did our talk to let you know I am working on your story, just to give you the heads up that it is in the works. Don't like to just go dark on people.

Once I am finished with the story, I will shoot you a link to the story (posted on my MEGA in .doc format) for you to read and review. You can then tell me if you would like anything added, removed, or changed in the story. You can also point out any glaring errors I may have missed in my own editing pass. Feel free to mock me for them. I have a good humor about my errors. ^_^

I then go back and do the revisions requested, then shoot it back to you again. Rinse and repeat these two steps until you are satisfied with the story. Once you are satisfied, I do the final word count and send the second charge. For CBCs, there is no final word count, as it's all upfront, and it skips to the next phase. If the story is private, it all ends here. It is yours to do with as you please.

Once the final payment is made, it gets posted on my Subscribe Star within a day. You are free to share the story privately as you wish during this time, but I do ask that you don't post it on your own profile until after it goes public. This will happened within 1 week of it going up on S-Star. I will also let you know when it is up public for you to have a gander or link or whatever.

Once the finished story is in your hands, you are free to do whatever you like with it. My only two requests are that bit about not posting public until I do, and that you please leave my writers credit on there. And maybe link my account if you do post it on your profile (which you are free to do).

Final Thoughts
So there you have it. My whole writing process and what all those words on my profile mean and why the change as things progress.
I know this is a bit wordy, but I figured I should actually do the breakdown of just what I'm doing on my end while you patiently wait for your story.
I hope that helps to explain things for everyone who was curious about just what the fuck this insane rat actually does! lol
