Yesterday at 1:30 i went out for a walk to my favorite McDonalds what was less than 5 minutes from my house, it was a fairly uneventful trek, when i got there i did the usual ritual of ordering my food and sat down to wait for it.
Then this guy walks in and starts to orbit the seats i was at near the center of the building, this...confused me at first but then he violently kicked over a wet floor sign near one door, then the other near the opposite door, when the workers called him out he walked back behind the register, shoved one of the workers out of the way and tried to steal the money drawer the manager was carrying.
In that instant i got up and charged his ass and he hit me with the drawer, thankfully it was plastic so it just bounced off my head then i grabbed him, trying to hold him there but he picked me up and slams me to the ground on my back then starts punching me, fortunately i already had a plan to make sure he did all this in front of a camera that was above the register, I scream for someone to call the police and that's when the guy bolted for it, I was sore and had a massive headache from the punches but thank my lucky stars I got off easy with only a strained back and a few bruises, I know from tv situations like this can get MUCH WORSE than what happened to me, I in no way shape or form thought my situation was the absolute worst outcome.
Thankfully the guy was unarmed and swiftly arrested a few hours later, but to make sure I was ok I got admitted to a nearby hospital and had full x-rays done of my head and spine as well as a cat scan, everything came back clean and I walked out at about 6:50 in the afternoon. I then went back to the same McDonalds to order dinner and was promised a new meal to replace my spoiled lunch as a reward for acting, I got praises from the staff, police, and medical staff at the hospital for my quick thinking and my family had been informed of the details and could not be more proud, everyone's calling me a hero but i honestly think that's a bit much. >//w//>
