Commission Details

Hi, all. Commissions are open on a one-by-one basis. Going through my last commission-details journal (on FA), I decided something a little more streamlined might be in order.

Pricing and Process
Pricing is $0.02 / word (USD), payable via PayPal.
I'll invoice 90% when the draft is done (no payment is due prior to that). When the invoice is paid, I'll send the draft.
There will be one round of revisions and opportunity for feedback. Changes should be minor. Onerous changes may incur a fee (on a case-by-case basis), or I might decide that it's not worth the hassle and let you keep the remaining 10%.
Assuming I decide to make the changes, I will invoice the remainder. Ideally, this will be about 10% of the commission price, but added words and fees will increase the price.

Likes and Don't-Likes
As mentioned in a prior journal, the theme for choosing commissions is, "Will this be fun for me?" That's not a black-and-white answer but more of a spectrum ranging from "I can't believe I'm getting paid to do this" to "I should be charging a thousand dollars a word for this". The lists below give a little insight into where on the spectrum a potential commission might fall. There's not a hard limit on "yes/no", so just because a story has a "don't-like" item doesn't mean it will necessarily be rejected. But, if I have the choice between one that looks fun and one that doesn't, the one that looks more fun will likely get done first so that I'm not holding everybody up while I slog through the less-fun one.
Likes
* Stories focusing on more than just the kink, like world-building, character development, or interesting plot advancement
* Flexible word count: I can and do meet hard limits, but flexibility lets me follow the story rather than feeling compelled to chop it off at a specific limit.
* Kinks / themes I enjoy: kinks that dehumanize, humiliate, take away control, or result from loss of control, e.g., (forced) babyfur, (forced) bestiality, watersports/omorashi, castration, forced orgasms / impregnation / milking, transformation, loss of control due to musk / pheromones, etc. Incorporating ritual or punishment into any of those is icing on the cake.

Don't-Likes
* "Mary Sue" / character aggrandizement: talking about how great a character is just to stroke the commissioner's ego. Building a character up for the purpose of tearing him/her down, though, is fine (and fun! >:) ).
* Tedious stories: Long and full of stuff I like is great. Long and full of stuff I don't like or lacking in stuff I do is tedious. A story with lots of stuff in the don't-like list is more likely to get done if it's short, so that's something to consider.
* Picky, rigid, or very detailed outlines: Some detail is fine and appreciated (and I'm likely to ask for more detail), but playing plot-point-Tetris is not fun. As a general rule of thumb, figure that the number of words of description ought to be 1/10th the desired commission length or fewer. A 5k-word story ought to have 500 or fewer words' worth of description. This is a ballpark, and if you find yourself at 600 words for a 5k-word commission, you're probably fine.
* Kinks I can't wrap my head around: I'm open-minded and actively strive to understand all the kinks that I'm commissioned to write, but if I'm left scratching my head, it's going to be hard to do it. A lot of the fun for me is getting into the commissioner's and characters' heads, and if I can't do that, it feels like trying to put a puzzle together without being able to see any of the pieces: a lot harder, a lot less fun, and with a lot of unnecessary fumbling around.
* Stories requiring a lot of research upfront: I know a little about Pokémon, for instance, but if I have to go research specific characters' traits and abilities just to write the story, that falls under "not-fun".
* Turn-off kinks: farting. Minor, passing references are fine, but it's a sinking-feeling-in-the-pit-of-my-stomach when I think about going beyond that.
* Unclear / rude / condescending / no communication: If I'm trying to make a better product for you, help me by being clear in your communication and not treating me like an idiot because I don't know about <insert your kink here>. I've written around a hundred different kinks and themes to date; I can't be an expert in all of them!

As always, feel free to reach out to me here, on FA, or via one of my social media handles for questions or concerns.
