How trolls and stalkers on Kiwifarms influence communities

by
You know that feeling in creepypasta stories, where the protagonists lives in a house their whole life then one day by sheer accident they discover a creepy guy lived in their vent and was looking at them through a crack in the wall? Cops come in, take fat smelly guy with slimy hair in handcuffs as he looks at you with a grin and laughs like a psycho, behind him finding notebooks documenting everything the owner does. Apart from the many realizations that pass you in such a time, there's the one that someone you never even knew existed dedicated a large part of their life just to obsessing over you.

Though my physical apartment has no hiding spots and is secure, it would appear I have an internet version of that story. I'm sure most heard of a place called Kiwifarms: A website which to my knowledge is dedicated exclusively to stalking people and slandering them... using publicly available information, but creepy ass stalking none the less. Keep in mind I myself don't know most of what was said there: I was only made aware I have a thread on the place, only looked briefly before the toxicity hit like the smell of a toilet that's been used daily without anyone flushing or cleaning in over an year, were such a thing physically possible.

It appears they have a section dedicated to me explicitly. I've been stalked for at least close to a decade. And I use the word stalked as I'm not talking of some disgruntled follower that watches what I post somewhere then brings it up somewhere for criticism or something; They obsessively follow people around in every public space they have access to, copy their photos and messages be they discussion or work related stuff, then post them just to make a mockery at anything they can find. They clearly dedicate a good portion of their lives to doing it too... I figure we're like "projects" or "subjects", I know certain people that come up on the news every few years like to use those terms. The first post has a photo of me meeting up with some old friends, don't even remember where I posted that or still had it up. No doubt the creeps will read this journal too, got no issues putting up a good show for their sorry asses at this point.

So why do I bring it up now? This was fully brought to my attention just today by sheer chance, after someone informed me that's allegedly what the Xonotic team banned me over. Yes: Apart from the fact that for months since it happened I wasn't even told exactly why they did it, I find out a place dedicated to trolling and slander is where they got their info about me from, you know while I was right there for them to actually talk to any point in time. I hear the bullshit circulating there is so bad one of the team members is afraid I might pose a danger to children... by discussing technical questions about a game engine and contributing code, which is all I ever did in 15 years since I've been with the project. I seriously don't know if to laugh or be in awe... is this world even serious in manifesting its existence?

There's a possibility they're using edited screenshots too. If it's from Twitter I no longer have my account there so I couldn't even confirm or infirm whether they're original; I remember some episodes and the gist of what they were about, but not exactly what I said or why... since guess what the time period they refer to is 3 fucking years ago, good luck to anyone remembering every single argument they had in the previous decade. It's easy to either edit the screenshot given the flat color background, or the source at HTML level before taking it. From the scum in such a place I'd expect every little bit of it too... especially since I managed to find out that before my ban the Xonotic team was pressured by hackers into removing me, they threatened to DDOS their servers if they didn't comply. TLDR I don't even know if whatever they went at me for is what I truly said or meant at all... but hey, I'm sure a website worse than 4chan is the best source of reliable information with proper context on everyone around you.

And that's the thing that surprised me: I believe people might have told me about Kiwifarms in the past, I likely shrugged it off and dropped it from memory being used to this sort of stuff in places like Youtube comments. I didn't think I'd have to care about such a thing, as I never imagined people I work with for years could go behind one's back over something like that. With how low standards are everywhere today, almost nothing is left as a surprise any more. Rest assured I will continue to pursue the issue with Xonotic until the wrong is righted, if it isn't before I die I'll haunt their butts in the afterlife till they set it right... for now I at least know a bit about how deep the wasp's nest goes.

I do agree that sites like kiwi farms and encyclopedia dramatica are rotten websites a perfect habitat for vile narcissistic degenerates to thrive the same way a Chinese wet market is a perfect place for a deadly disease to flourish. On a positive note sites like Officer Privacy are their worst nightmare because it is run by law enforcement and it removes potentially harmful personal information that these evil websites want to have. however it costs money but it is worth it for me :) and it may also be helpful.
