Broken Windows

Just looked at my journal and Diety Forgive Me as it's been over eight years since I last posted anything so I'm posting an update in regards to Windows.

Recently upgraded from my B450M Pro4 (AsRock) to a B550 from AsRock and I'm switching to 80GB of ECC memory with an R5 3600XT. Should help with the Wacom One as some of the files I've been playing with have easily forced the system to Swap and I have 64GB of memory.

On a related front, I've been buying Server Drives (SAS) for the last 3yrs since they're about the same price as 1 - 2 TB SSD drives. My old board only had 3 Sata ports usable since I was using an M.2 Sata for the boot drive. Not a good place to be when you keep adding files to a system and the price of large drives (4TB or better) was too high. Plus the SMR issue so performance could tank, thus the SAS drives. Pretty much the same cost for a 900GB drive as a 1TB SSD and more reliable for my needs.

The main thing I'm going to be doing after the Nude Rear is a full wipe (Windows goes under the Bus with a grenade, poor enough fuel on it, burn it and then nuke it from orbit to ensure it's dead and gone) and I'm going to install Linux again. No more Microscrap for me as they're just being too eeping nasty about me using "MY" hardware so I'm throwing them away.
