Pokéstate Chapter 4 Released on Patreon, Double Length. Public Release on Hold Until September

tl;dr I left my laptop at airport security. I got it back, but it took forever, and I missed a month of writing, The chapter is now done and has plot + two long m/m sex scenes. It's double length to make up for the delay, at 17405 words / 40 full word-processor pages. Apologies, but I'm delaying the public release by one month so Patrons get what they paid for. So, early June, I was flying out to vacation with

Vorechestra

, which required several layovers. I had booked with two different airlines because it was cheaper, requiring me to go through security twice. So, having taken two flights already, I was tired when it came time to go through security again. I derped and left my laptop there, not even putting it together why my bag felt lighter until I was on the final flight. I felt stupid about what I'd done, awful I didn't have access to my machine, and scared I'd just put myself in a hole financially.

I did get it back in the end, but it was a long wait. It took the airport and the shitty company they subcontract their Lost&Found to THREE AND A FUCKING HALF WEEKS TO EVEN RESPOND to my request to have my property returned even though they had a picture of it right there on their site and I'd sent my request responding to that particular lost-item ad, with the item's unique ID, my ID, and all the information they requested in order to confirm the item was mine. Once my service ticket had been assigned to an actual person, everything went super quick, 24 hours tops, so I know the wait was just due to backlog they had because they don't employ enough people.

Then I had to wait for it to be shipped to me, of course. I did get the laptop back with no damage, so I give credit where credit is due, but I still could not work on the story for the remaining three weeks of June and the first week of July. I had no way to write aside from good old pen and paper, and it takes me just as long to transcribe hard copy onto the computer as it does to write the draft in the first place, not to mention I can't easily edit it until it's digital. So when I did get the laptop back, I worked my ass off on the story, adding a second sex scene to make up for the delay, expanding the existing one, doing more plot and introducing more characters, etc. It ended up being twice as long as chapter 3!

I just finished last night, which is when it went up on Patreon. Our Silver and Golden Patrons get 1-month advance access, so to make sure they get what they've paid for, I'm not posting chapter 4 here until the first Friday in September.
