minor thought

by
I dont know why but I always felt that in a furry world the kid would be the same species as the mom. Mostly because it would make child birth easier for them. Especially depending on the mom and dads species due to size or the like if that matters in that world.

Plus it explains why you dont see to many crossbreed species overall.

I dunno minor thought.

You do that too! Wow, that's how I do i too.

Yeah when you do hybrids things can get really convoluted and complex so I've always said that " The gene that controls species is dominated by the mother" just to help keep things simple.

Hah, 'minor'! x.x

But yes it's either that or certain species have a dominant gene, or perhaps it depends on circumstance/luck which species is the one that passes on.  I do feel there ought be traits of the other parent however.

Either way, how settings explain this sort of thing, not to mention the lack of hybrids if they allow for them (societal stigma against interspecies, low viability rates...) is always an interesting one to consider.

I've never really thought about it honestly. I guess for me it would be 50/50 species on either father or male.

it would be the mother because offspring get more genetic material from the mother than the father in mammals.

In my private (for now) writings it's similar. The child is born either of the mother's or father's species. More often the mother's. Hybrids are extremely rare. I basically have three universes I write in. One where furries exist along side humans, another where only furries exist, and a third where furs are the product of genetic engineering.
