This is what I really want. A cat simulator MMO. Maybe if Stray is a big hit we get one.
I imagine a cozy little town with lots of quaint houses and a patchwork of gardens connected by a maze of garden walls.
You design your cat, like breed and pattern and accessories and stuff. Then you distribute stats like: strength, dexterity, and cuteness. Then you pick if you wanna start in a home or be a stray or a wild cat.
If you pick house cat you start as kitten as your picked up by a randomly rolled family and get a random home as your base.
Gameplay revolves around begging for extra food for excursions into the gardens. Escape if the owners want to keep you inside. And just keep family morale up with cuddles and antics. Because if family morale drops too low the family split up and move away.
Outside you explore the neighborhood, meet other cats and conquer and defend a territory. This involves peeing in strategic places and fighting intruder cats.
You can also gain reputation by hunting small game or if you are particularly skilled you tease a dog and get into a fight (and survive).
It would be possible to make kittens with other cats and play as then if your previous cat dies (dying would be limited to hardcore servers).
Playing a stray is higher difficulty gameplay since you don't have a safe base to operate from and the animal catcher can lock you away. Also getting food is harder. You have to rely on hunting or begging in public.
But you are able to move around more freely and explore further. You can also attain higher stats since you are not a lazy house cat.
Wild cats live in the forest around the town and mostly try to survive by hunting. But they can go into town to scavenge.
I wanna play as kitty cat. Definitely gonna try Stray when it's out.
