What's up with baraag?

I've been thinking on making an account there, those who have one, what's your experience? I've heard Twitter is a dumpster fire most of the time, but I would like to hear opinions on both sites, or any other place where I can post more shota and human content (Pixiv, HicceArs, etc). Or is it better if I just keep posting it all here?

Also yooo I didn't know I was on e621, what an honor.

baraag is alright, it doesnt have the best filtering/blocking system, however. it can be good for linking offsite humanoid/shota nsfw art tho since you cant post it here
pixiv is nice, but generally you have to censor mature works.

It's good if you want somewhere next to inkbunny to share the human stuff, just censor it here and link to it there. Baraag isn't a hugely personal thing like twitter is, just art sharing, really. However, if you want something more like a complete feature website with galleries and such then try one of the others you mentioned.

Baraag is pretty good, pixiv can work good as is hiccears too. Honestly I’d give each a try and see what fits and you like most.  You are pretty good! Whaddya expect? Only the best is on E621 and ya tick all those boxes. -hugs-

It's a good place to post unfiltered shota stuff with a strong community, plus it's an easy place to post. (most of the comments cover a good major of the pros)

Baraag has a very friendly and open community and it has some pretty good blocking and filtering tools. Lots of good artists. However, its small and isolated.

There is one major con:
There's adjacent, non-related sites/instances running off the same web interface (fediverse) where people pretty blatantly post csem. Baraag cracks down on it HARD but it's there, just out of sight. Thats a pretty big issue.. I hope it won't drive you away from considering the platform, but I'd understand. Its pushing me away atm.

I have no issue clicking links from here to Baraag to see the human stuff. Thats pretty much the only reason I have an account though, I dont use it actively. Same for Pixiv and Hiccears. Twitter is a nightmare platform that I try to urge artists to stay away from. Horrible UI combined with horrible people.

Everything everyone has said. Friendly, problematic-content-welcoming community, so if you're into loli, shota and some of the more extreme fetishes as long as you tag stuff and learn how to use their interface you're fine. That said the fediverse outside Baraag has a lot of toxic people-racists are its biggest issue along with right-wing nuts and assholes of all stripes. Stick to Baraag and you're fine. The csem stuff is unfortunate, and if you post underage art or writing you might sometimes get people watching you from other instances who reblog/support that kind of material/real life activity. So far, though, I've only had to report three people in the year or so I've been there. Baraag does a really good job of keeping anything like that off their platform.

One word of advice-make sure that in your profile you include your age and a statement stating that nothing you post is inspired by or meant to reflect anything in real life, and that it's all fantasy. This is so that there's less chance of Baraag running into legal difficulty.

Otherwise, I've found a lot of friendly people there and have even made a few good friends thanks to it.

Thank you, that's really good advice! Fortunately, I've never dealt with awful people or csem, not even on IB (so far). And Baraag is peaceful enough and really comfortable to me, probably because it is more "hidden" than sites like twitter and I feel somewhat safer posting the type of content I do.
