First Case Account: The Seattle Extreme Heat Wave

Not to sound like a victim or anything, this is just more of a reference statement; something to base off of if your in need of info about this event.  Personal experience of course, and on the record, I was working at Sea-Tac International Airport for afternoon and evening.

 How hot was it?
I remember my phone stating it was 112 F.  Personal experience however; couldn't-even-sweat-because-it-was-evaporating-by-the-time-seeped-out-of-the-body hot, the-wind-that-was-blowing-wasn't-normal-but-blasted-air-of-hotness hot, didn't-want-to-move-but curl-into-ball-and-back hot.  Now I know how people feel in Phoenix all the time.

How did you survive?
Honestly I didn't think the company would be ready and we would have had some individuals at the hospital due to heat stroke.  But they did a good job, mostly by:
Cooling Towel
These were given out to everyone, just keep it around your neck and keep it watered and it'll reduce your internal temp by 1-4 degree's (fun fact, if you dry them out they become as stiff as a board)
Water/Cooling trucks
We had 4 vehicles in circulation, 3 water trucks that came with bottles of cold water or watercoolers of Gatorade, the other truck was a cooling truck that gave out frozen eats like icy pops or sorbets.  They did routines around the ramp or whenever the leads would call for them.
Cooling Vans
There was of vehicles that were there to give teams a place to hide from the sun for as long as they could, with inside AC and other accommodations.
Sunscreen
Not something they gave me, I had it myself for a while, but very valuable.

Did you make it out ok?
Airport wise, not great.  Many flights were canceled, so I had to deal with the re-bagged ones to their new flights/peirs or worse having them miss their flight and needing to be re-tagged.  It was like that all day, no break whatso ever; and there was only like 3 of us.
Personally, I did get some heat rashes from it.  I did put some moisturizer on it so hopefully it'll clear up in a day or two.  Some sunburn, but nothing major.  If I were to do anything differently I'd get a neck fan, most likely still will.

I think that's everything, any questions let me know.
