Next Projects and Your Input

Howdy all!

I know it's been a while since my last story, and unfortunately it's probably going to be a minute more before the next one is out.

I hit a bit of a lull in excitement and motivation, but am slowly getting back into the swing of writing. Currently I have two projects underway. One is a story about some kids having a sleepover and the other is a very basic (if likely pretty damn long) Twine Story in which you are the system admin for a teaching AI on a distant mining planet.

So I have 2 questions for my loyal readers:

1) If, let's say, there was the possibility that I could have different versions of the sleepover story where a single key moment goes 3 different ways, would you want to see the three possible outcomes of that story as separate uploads or are you content with me picking one and not rehashing the set up, just to do a "what if" scenario?

2) Do you like Twine Games (i.e. choose your own adventure style games) or would you prefer I just write it out on a google doc like a normal, sane person might choose to do?

Whatever I end up finishing first, I hope it's worth the wait and that y'all are excited!

I think it would be fun to see the different outcomes you had in mind! Getting to see all three would be nice for people who might like the alternate versions more, also.

I think a Twine game could be pretty fun, also! I don't really see them enough to have a 'real' opinion on them, but I've liked the ones I've seen.

Haha, if I'm honest I kinda figured that would be most people's opinion on the matter. I really asked in case someone had a really strong distaste for either of those projects, like, "Twine killed my family."

Haha I suppose at the end of the day, I really just wanted to give an update on where the stories are at.

Fair! It's great to see you back, regardless. I loved your stuff and I particularly missed seeing more of the siblings going on their pokemon journey together, haha. That one hits basically every button I own.

Haha, well now that I really can't use SoFurry anymore it'll likely see a comeback. I was basically dinged for the SoFurry version being "too unclear" about whether the characters were human or furry and they forced me to go back and change all the stories to make it more explicit which really soured me on writing more of the series at the time. Might feel more inclined to get back to Max and Lucy soon, but before then I'm going to dive into these two projects. Hope they can tide you over until then, haha!

Really? Why do they care? I honestly liked the ambiguity. It let me put whatever I wanted to see there. But yeah, it's a shame how SF is going. It's my favorite platform for story reading, honestly.

Also, sorry for not responding properly before, haha. Must have forgotten to click on the reply button. I can't wait to see whatever you whip up, though! I've pretty much adored everything you've put out so far!

Love to hear that! haha. Yeah from what I have heard this change is not quite a choice on the part of the runners, but I don't know enough to say any more than that.

Basically I was told that because it was ambiguous, but set in the Pokemon world the mod was going to interpret them as Human despite no specific textual references to their species so I had to make Max and Lucy explicitly furry and it really ticked me off. Basically there was a lot of supposing going on and it did not happen to my benefit.

That's incredibly silly. There are plenty of other 'ambiguous species' stories out there, you can't just assume human based off of no context. I'm really sorry you had to deal with that. I don't know how over it you are, but I probably would have tried bringing up the matter with another mod. If gray and green 'anonymous characters' that are clearly human shaped can be allowed in pictures, then an 'insert what you like' non-descript written character should be totally fine. That's the point of species ambiguity in written works. Being able to insert your preferred creature, whether it be human or furry or otherwise.

Maybe you could specifically add the 'ambiguous species' tag to get that point across?

yeah it's kind of a moot point now which is nice. Honestly the most annoying thing about that situation was that at the same time i was getting that feedback from the mods, I was rereading Punjoke's story about a bunch of kids at a Pokemon Daycare Center all of whom are explicitly human and in the same basic setting which has been up and untarnished for a lot longer than my stories.

oh well, i get to move on past that now haha!

And with how they are nuking all cub work now in every sense and thought, i dont see a sense in posting any work there either, hell i had to move over the works that had cub onto here cuz i knew a few of them would get flagged as the one story i had did.

Yeah, now it's basically a more writing oriented FA with fewer active users. Not much to draw me back unless something changes in the future. Will see, but IB has treated me well and I'm looking into AO3 since I'm exclusively doing writing so it's not the end of the world yet haha.

Ya tho it is understandable why he did this. He really cant be faulted when his own life is being threatened by Government dick heads who dont understand the concept of fiction not being in reality.

ya, anyways im glad at least you are making sure to archive your stories else where, one person i tried to get into contact with isnt going to try and archive his stories and by the looks of it isnt allowing people to have the stories for their own reading pleasure, hes outright nuking them.

Personally, I'm not that fond of choose your own adventure books, so I'm very content with you choosing the on you like the most, however, I suppose if they're posted in different posts, I can just ignore the other ones so it doesn't really make a difference. Regarding the two stories, I can't really imagine what the stroy about hte AI would be about but it certainly sounds very interesting so I'm really looking forward to reading that one when it is ready \^o^/, though don't feel obligated in any way to have an continuous content stream!
