And thus ends what has so far been the worst year and decade of my life.
Undeniably, the defining theme during the first decade of the 2000s is that I lost literally half of my family:
2002...Mom died
2004...An Aunt died
2008...An Uncle and a Grandmother died
2009...The other Grandmother died
2010...Dad and another Uncle died
Of that decade, the past three years have been the most trying, with 2010 being exceptionally challenging. The physical and emotional stress of family members essentially dropping dead left and right has been getting to me, and the lawsuit I had at the beginning of the year didn't help matters at all. I've been on the brink of breaking nearly the entire year.
Anyway, I know realistically I cannot say for certain that 2011 will be better...but I am hopeful. Desperately hopeful. I say this every year...and I've never meant it as much as I do right now...
Happy New Year everyone. May 2011 not suck as much as 2010 did.
And Dear God did 2010 ever suck...
