if you talk to somebody in its mothertongue he/she/* might feel "intimally" addressed (and look how strange, we often talk about MOTHER-tongue....heh MOTHERS are usually the ones who deliver BABIES..so..)
you IMMEDIATELY can tell where one's from just by listening to a foreigner speaking your langauge for a FRACTION of second: they tried to "mark their own territory" against yours with the words of your own language and you CAUGHT THEM in the act!
