So, here's my first "blog" on Inkbunny after a haphazard scrap post of links to other sites over 15 months ago (updated recently). In fact, this is actually my first full sized blog post ever on any platform in over 2 years.
Hi Inkbunny fans, I am Hakubara. I mainly focus on shota and kemoshota (male cub-fur fandom) content. Both browsing as a lurker (most of the time) and when I have the time, posting works of my own. I was inspired to make my own (xD well, more like a personal leisure hobby) after searching other artists based in North America and Japan.
I have visited many conventions throughout the years (up to 2019), namely NYComicCon [New York, NY], FurryCon [Rochester, NY; defunct], Anime North [Toronto, ON], CanFURence [Ottawa, ON], Anthro New England [Boston, MA], Comiket [Tokyo, Japan], Shotaket [Tokyo, Japan], Kemoket [Tokyo, Japan], and ComicWorld [Seoul, Korea].
I was hoping to make a nice introduction here, but my sparse activity here is probably less noticeable than I thought. But it is a nice platform compared to other places that requires you to censor your work before posting like PIXIV or many other places that outright prohibit shota or cub works [sorry, I got kicked off DeviantArt over 10 years ago and I'm not looking back or create another account].
Now, for privacy reasons I cannot say what I actually do for a living, as drawing is just a leisure hobby of mine and not really expected to make money off of it to begin with. I am a frontline healthcare worker, one of first of many witnessing this pandemic unfold since late March and as of now an even worse than hell situation beginning late summer of 2020. I know some people here or elsewhere disagree with me and/or doubt the veracity of claims or the existence of this pandemic or "plandemic" as I am hearing now on the streets. I am not going to discuss or argue with anyone about a "fake pandemic" or "Orwellian government control" as you are entitled to your own opinions and freedom of expression, and I do not believe this platform is an appropriate place to discuss these matters. In the past, and even now I have witnessed worse things like some furry artists here in North America spewing neo-Nazi (and more recently, MAGA/QAnon-related) ideologies through their personal opinions or their art works (of which I will boycott them), and die-hard kamikaze ethno-racial nationalists emphasizing racial superiority/inferiority in some Japanese anime and doujinshi circles. If anyone was curious about my political views, I am a democratic socialist [yes, the Bernie/AOC type] but I will not be espousing anything else politically sensitive on this platform, except for political satire which I enjoy at pleasure like this work of mine here: https://inkbunny.net/s/2339944]. Personally, I've seen enough despair and hopelessness driving people one way or another including myself, to which I finally decided to take a stand and seek help.
I am consulting with a career counsellor and psychologist on transitioning my career away from this stench of death to something more life fulfilling. I have been diagnosed with a mild case of occupational burnout as a result of ongoing stress and lack of motivation. Now before my dopamine levels drop again and I go back into my man cave sifting through news media, anime/manga, and Netflix while losing my motivation to draw more furries before my next now-grueling work shift (despite the burnout I still have bills to pay $$$), I cannot emphasize enough for everyone to stay healthy (not just physically, but also mentally :D) and active (take walks, reconnect with old flames and social networking like Linkedin). Seek help when you start feeling depressed and hopeless. Start with family, friends, preferably over Zoom or Skype (if anyone still uses this ancient relic, I'm a 90's Millennial who still uses it), and if all other options are naught, seek a mental health professional or support groups for help.
I will still check in here time to time, just looking at notifications, reply if needed be. If you want to friend me, feel free to do so, I will appreciate the company.
EDIT: I'm also not really great at writing big blogs like this unless I have something to vent.Check me out on my page to PIXIV for non-furry works and my Twitter and Mastodon accounts for quick quip microblogs. I'm more efficient at writing short quips on SNS than a big blog like this one.
P.S. Also, I've tried sending support tickets to admin or moderator about making an one-time donation to Inkbunny without any reply. If you can get me in touch with one, I'd really appreciate it.
