Rest in Peace, Flo Kohl

by
Last week, I met my one Roomate's mother, Flo.

Dan's very close to his Mom. He's always been. Up until we moved, he lived in her old house. She sold the house and he had to move out, and he did. She helped the whole way through. She gave us almost everything the house had in it.

I met her once. Just one time in my entire life. I had heard so much about her, so many good and wonderful things. I regret not having met her sooner, and seeing her more.

She's dying. She's in Newfoundland on ICU. Her bowels have deteriorated to the point where there's almost nothing left. Even if they did something to try and treat her... she'd have two weeks at the best, and be hospital ridden the whole time.

There's nothing they can do. Dan's Mom is... well, dead. Not yet, but she may as well be.

First he breaks his shoulder, then his mother dies, and he can't afford to go see her. Hopefully when the funeral happens, he can go... He is facing the reality that there's no way he can go there, but he needs to go to that funeral. I wish I could help him.

So, rest in peace Flo. I know you probably the least out of everyone I know, but I can say with confidence that you were... are an amazing woman... kind and strong.

Dan may not like the idea... but I'll keep looking after him as long as he needs me. You can rest assured of that.

My prayers are with her. Maybe there is some source from which Dan can get the money to visit her.
