Happy new year everyone.
I hope that with 2020 behind us, we might all feel a bit different (at least mentally). I've been keeping track of how much time I put into art each year and have been pleased to watch the numbers go up year by year. Even with all the mess of 2020, I still managed to meet my art goal by the skin of my teeth. So I am now setting a new goal for 2021, and I'm confident all the growth and support I've had since I started taking art seriously will help me to complete it.
2021 will be the year I put out an actual comic for the first time. I'm setting a minimum goal of 20 drafted comic pages, and at least one page fully produced by the end of the year. The way I'm thinking it will work is I want to take a lot of time to hammer out any design considerations so I'll have a lot more sketch work done before I release any fully produced pages. As usual, the goal I'll actually shoot for is double the minimum along with a really ambitious goal of 3x the minimum. I have no idea what I'll actually be able to pull off, so IMO it's always better to shoot high. I also want to do a lot more painting so I'll shoot for 50 paintings by the end of the year as well. I want 2021 to be worth something more than just "making it through". Life is too short for another year of that.
Here's wishing the best to all of you and your plans for 2021. Let's get at it!!!!
