Poor little thing, born without it's back left leg. We have a pug in labor and Mom goes to bed instead of keeping an eye on it. Stupid pug doesn't CHEW the umbilical cord, it pulls it and rips it off at the stomach. It's not the first time this has happened to us. Anyway, once it's ripped off all the intestines fall out and mommy eats them. Instead of doing something to help it, Mom wraps it up in some plastic bags and tosses it in the trash. I get out of bed three hours later and the poor thing is still crying away in there.
Mom tied up the bag and gave it to me to take to the dump in town, but instead I took it to the office. I didn't want to just leave it to die slowly like that. It wasn't even close to dead either, It was still squirming and fighting.
I didn't think I could break it's neck so the only other thing I could think of to do was to drown it.
I filled the sink with warm water and held it under until it was gone. For 15 minutes I had to hold it under. Several times while I was waiting it would stop moving long enough for me to wonder if it was done and it would kick and squirm and gag and a bit of foam comes out of it's mouth. God it sucked, I don't know HOW people can get off on killing things.
It's just so sad, I place it underwater with what's left of it's guts hanging out it's belly-button and still it fights. It knows to go up to get out of the water. It doesn't want to go. It doesn't know that it's dying. All it knows is that it's hungry and that something hurts. It wants it's mommy.
