I just banned someone for the first time. I did a $15 drawing commission and my client refused to pay me. He didn't give me his PayPal address, he constantly changed the topic, gave me short replies, made promises about paying me, but he never did. He even went as far as to reply one hour later in between notes. I stopped when I got a PayPal message saying I had money in my account. I assumed he paid me and I left it there. A few days later, I did another commission and I got paid right away. However, as I check my transaction records, I noticed that his payment was not there. I called customer service for clarification and they told me he never sent the payment. A true payment email would have told me I got $15 after being paid. I give him the benefit of the doubt and ask him for his PayPal address, hoping to clear the misunderstanding. And he goes back to being evasive. I asked an acquaintance of him if he's gonna pay me back and he says no. My client had a history of lying, stalking, and cheating others. I used his email address on PayPal to send the $15 solicitation. It says that I have a pending payment, but something tells me he won't pay. Already called customer service to see if I either get the payment or I have to cut my losses.
Sorry for the long paragraph. Needed to vent. I just learned my first lesson in commissions. Never let your guard down. Always research a guy asking for a commission before sending a reply or else they will screw you over. You have the power to end things before they start so use it. Now that I learned something from this experience, I will try to update rules of commissions later.
