It's been three days since my surgery to correct the cataract removal/lens replacement surgery I had 99 weeks ago. https://www.furaffinity.net/view/28391959/ And I'm very happy to report that all systems are green, with the exception of the eye itself, which is gloriously, radiantly bloodshot as I type this. But the vision in my right eye is totally restored. The jellyfish that swirled around in my field of vision, that was growing ever larger—and darker—has been evicted. And after a few days recovery time, my right eye now sees as well as my left, provided I'm wearing my -8.0 contact lens in the left eye (yeah, I've been super-myopic since kindergarten). And now, at this late stage in my goofy life, I can finally see as well as—all the rest of you. Which makes me very happy. So I'm going to take it easy for a little while, and use up my cocktail of med-eyedrops, and humbly thank all of you who so kindly expressed your concern and best wishes. You are all very nice and I won't ever forget that. Esp. after I had to re-enact a scene from An Andalusian Dog. Hope I never have to do that again. ^º•*^.
I hear that, Pigster! They didn't use lasers on me, either. Strictly old school—razors, not lasers. Didn't know you were a fellow myopic—I truly hope you have eyesight that can read license plates from across the street. ^•^

Not really. The surgery corrected it for many years, but it slowly went back as I grew older. Right now I have problems seein the whole car across the street.

Thank you again, Steve! (I'm thanking you twice in one week!) I see my surgeon early tomorrow morning and he's going to tell me what's what. But from my perspective, the operation has been a success that has exceeded all expectations. And this comes after being told by some that "there's really nothing that can be done" and "well, you're just going to have to learn to live with it." And, maybe a couple of years ago, that was true. But they've come a long way with this kind of thing. I'm beginning to feel like I was born at the right time. ^•^

Considering what may have happened, yea, i agree a heavy sigh of relief is warranted. I guess i sympathize a little more than usual because as visual artists, this is pretty much the most nightmarish thing that can happen since we depend on or sight, and i can only imagine what you were going through during recovery, but thank goodness it all turned out fine.
