Covert Cubs

It's always annoying and hypocritical how you have these popular artists who draw porn/suggestive art of underage characters, or characters who clearly look underage, but they didn't specifically mention that they're underage, so everything's fine. They'll get thousands of likes and no one will bat an eye.

Draw that same exact character looking the same exact way but this time say they're 10 years old and OH NO, HORRIBLE, IMMORAL, BURN THIS ARTIST AT THE STAKE.

It's super-dumb. :P

(On the plus side, the title of "Covert Cubs" makes me think of little anthro boys in skintight sneaking suits, with shiny rubber perfectly formed around their booty and bulge. Good concept.) <3

that the price ya pay for holding up the Cub flag. It harder for folks to warrant their love of said character if their age is shown. Amy is a cute girl but once you say shes 15...she suddenly excluded from NSFW art.

I picture, with a name like covert cubs, they're ones undercover, spying on people XD may be lewd, may be curiosity, may be secret spies (cuz who'd think a cub is dangerous!)

Honestly, those people don’t go without criticism. There’s a group of antis who think it’s immoral to make “aged up” art of canonically underage characters and they get shit on pretty bad. On Twitter, the artist “Sakimichan” got such treatment over a lewd pin-up of Nezuko from the anime “Demon Slayer”
TroutViper

Yeah, they don't go without criticism: I'm criticizing them right now! ;)

Right?! MAN. It's ridiculous how just not saying it will get you such a pass!
Oh and don't even get me started on all the "size difference" that's been introduced to skirt around it. Like yeah your dude is three feet tall 'n tiny and the lady is 7 foot, there's no similarity here at all! Not a bit! Not that I blame them for doing it but like come on, let's all be honest with ourselves for a minute here. XD
GabrielLaVedier

I'm always honest. A weasel really is smaller than a chinchilla. Not everyone is a grifter, but your point is more than fair and more broadly true than most people want to admit. Its why cheerleader and schoolgirl outfits exist in adult sizes.
Norithics
4 years, 8 months ago
Well yeah, it's not like I think that nobody is honestly doing size difference for its own sake- but after a while you start to see it enough and it's like "Some of this HAS to be a sneak."

I mean the prime example was whenever Eikega would pull that stuff. "All these characters are 18+" my ass, lol.

Love the guy's work to death and will die for his right to make it... but who's he foolin' with that?
TroutViper
4 years, 8 months ago
Oh big time. It's an absolute joke to think most of the males Aikega's/Eikega's/Eigaka's works are adults, or even close to being adults. But again, thousands of likes. I think there's a far bigger audience for cub stuff than anyone wants to admit.

Yea I know what you mean and it's stupid cause it's all popularity based, "Nah dude she's/he's just Petite!"

and Covert Cubs is great just thought of Metal gear parody myself. XD

I actually agree with this. Tag your shit correctly.

There have been several posts about the reaction to cub content, but I'm not seeing it. Is it happening on Twitter?
TroutViper
4 years, 8 months ago
Yeah, on Twitter. I've seen tweets as ridiculous as "Unfollow this person because they've liked loli artwork in the past." Like, seriously? That's all it takes to start a witch hunt for some people, huh? :P

Pretty much yeah, that's just kinda how it goes though, hypocrites are everywhere and even worse people who shit all over something 'but it's ok when [x] does it'.

That setup certainly sounds like a fun idea though, I am trying to decide if I were to doll up my li'l fella in an outfit like that if a compressed heavy bulge in the front or the distinct outline of a fat, flaccid cock down one leg of the catsuit would be better...
TroutViper
4 years, 8 months ago
Ooh, big glossy front bulge! Then it can bounce very distractingly when he's running. ;)

Of course,a suit like that is just the time for things like unnecessary rolls and jumping down off of things to make the packed-in booty and bulges wobble and bounce to catch the eye.

Y'know, this all sounds quite excellent. I hope we actually get to see this some time. <3

It's definitely going on my list of things to commission, I quite like the sound of it ♥ It has that same kind of charm as cramming a girlish but well-endowed boy into a japanese schoolgirl's swimsuit, lots of big trapped in a small space, and the wonderful ways that it moves while it is.

What's worse is that they do it so that they can publish their work on sites that CLEARLY don't allow cub work but if the artist is popular enough and says "Oh it's not a cub" or doesn't say anything at all then nothing happens. A certain artist who's name starts with a Z always comes to mind in these situations
TroutViper
4 years, 8 months ago
I actually don't know which artist you're referring to, but yeah, that's part of the frustration of this -- that you've got people getting needlessly condemned for drawing fictional things, but also other people uploading things that are blatant violations of the ToS, but they get away with it because people really like their artwork. It blows. :P

Said artist's name starts with a Z and they are kind of famous for drawing otters as well as a certain canine that's clearly underage but the artist refuses to admit that fact. Also lots of comics in a certain bottomless district.. I'd rather not say the name directly

I agree 100% I also hate when these artists end up quitting cub art and delete all sources of it and pretend they never drew it. or just when any artist really quits it in fear of being shunned.
GabrielLaVedier

It's their choice. I did stupid things when I was younger. If you learn new things and want to change, change. And if shunning was a fear, that's not always bad. I used to be whatever the larval stage of a nice guy/neckbeard is. I'm ecstatic I'm not and that I never fully developed. Stubbornness isn't a virtue it's a neutral category of mentality. "Segregation now, segregation forever" is line in the sand and loyal to message as hell but it's a hard sell to call it good because of mere obstinacy.
GabrielLaVedier

As ever, it comes down to context. It's important to remember that, while we all love massive jugs and dangerous curves, sometimes genuine grown adults don't have that. And they obviously didn't do it on purpose. Also some folks keep up anatomical matters like reptiles without breasts. Avians. Amphibians. Then you're left with the thorny question of Intent. Who is and isn't... A Jimmy Savile isn't instantly obvious. I like to think of the distinctions between Shayla the pink mouse, and someone I don't think I can legally name but who was hinted at before and has a Z in their name. Shayla may be flat-chested but presents herself in openly adult ways and represents that aforementioned demographic of women who have small or nonexistent breasts. The legally unmentioned Z figure, by overwhelming indication, and by having multiple nearly identical characters desperately trying to look normal why always engaging in exaggerated imbalanced size actions, is either demonstrating personal Savile-ness, catering to Jimmy Savile audience members, or both. But since it's largely nonempirical, and since people can lie for profit, you're stuck with patchwork enforcement.

Also, loophole abuse: Ferals muddy the water. Their chronological and mental ages are wildly at odds and basically you have only "adult body passing" to go by.

Inkbunny itself is corrupted by cub AND pedo content and you can't say anything about it because there's money donors which run this thing.
TroutViper

I mean, I'm adding to the cub corruption by posting the things I post, aren't I? XD

Considering the fact that Inkbunny doesn't allow humans i don't see this "pedo content" that you speak of

Another reason why I do a quadruple facepalm at these waves of anti-cub crusades.

Hell, anime and manga are guilty of a similar thing. Take La Brava from My Hero Academia for example; she's 3'6" and looks very much like a child, (albeit with boobs), but is stated to be 21! (On the flip side, Gentle Criminal is 32, but looks more like he's in his 50's!)
TroutViper
4 years, 8 months ago
Though anime is sometimes the reverse, where you see some girl with huge tits and booty and she's 16. Age is just a number with anime, it seems. XD

*Especially* when they've drawn cub on ib, that's tagged as cub and looks like cub, before and just want to get twitter followers without backlash

Tracer is 10 years old. Ashley is in her 40s. She's quite happy to have her giant Rat ass mounted by the cute fox boy. Nothing Covert there Honey ;p

I think it would be fun if someone did a sneaky variant of the disclaimer that's always used in artwork, but instead have it as:

"All characters depicted in this picture aren't 18+". XD
TroutViper

(giggles) I may have to steal that. ;)

The way I see it, it's fiction. As long as it's not real life, it should be fine. Shouldn't be automatically judged as a pedo for liking or drawing cub art because as long as it remains completely fictional and you have no interest in irl situations like that, it should all be fine. It's stupid. People need to know the difference between reality and fiction.
Weiss
4 years, 8 months ago
That's the big issue, people don't- For most people cub=pedophilia. Also artists who draw cub/loli/shota content are accused of being pedos yet arttists who draw gore and vore arn't accused of being murderers/cannibals. The double standards is also a huge thing
TroutViper

Just in general, people are a lot more uptight about sex than violence. I mean, look at movies: You can watch a Saw movie and see a man gruesomely suffer as his guts are melted out with acid, but don't you DARE show a stiff penis. :P

Covert cubs sounds like the game I play on Twitter - I quietly look at all the cub and kemoshota but I don’t follow accounts or retweet and rarely ever hit like...
TroutViper
4 years, 8 months ago
I'll follow some accounts, but don't retweet, and hope people are too lazy to sift through all the people I'm watching to see if they're doing anything unclean. :P

I'm a little too paranoid to follow accounts. I follow a hyper shota artist that not a whole lot of people follow and bigger kemono artists that have drawn kemoshota and have gotten away with it, but that's it.

100% agreed. Just admit you drew it/like it and move on. People that get so bent out of shape over lines on a screen are something else.

Just encountered your profile, lovely stuff! What's surprised me is just how many very high profile artists straight up do cub art and repost it without tags. :v

It's funny how much anger and rage appears over fictional characters sometimes.
