So, I've been grinding away in AC:NH for a while now. The game is so beautiful!
My island is filling up with flowers and crazy amounts of bamboo. I've made all the seasonal items I have recipes for, including the bamboo wand, and still have plenty of young spring bamboo and stupid amounts of regular bamboo. Do bamboo shoots ever appear on your island or do you have to keep raiding bamboo islands for them? Bamboo was so crazy invasive in New Leaf now it's not?
I'm building bridges and ramps and have Mable and Sable (💖) Able opening their shop tomorrow. Celeste visited last night and gave me the recipe for the Star Wand. I have no large star fragments to build it with yet. I want the recipe for the Happy Wand.
Today's visitor is Flick! So I've been catching bugs and selling them to him like crazy, including a tarantula I had in my house. So much money! I could pay off my house right now but I'm saving it for more bridges and ramps. I see why some artists are into him.
I read some stuff about using Amiibo, since I want to invite Rosie to my island and probably Plucky and some others. I brought some Amiibo villagers to the photo studio island but I find the situation there creepy. I did order some posters of Rosie and built a Rosie shrine in my front room. I found a message in a bottle from her today too.
I got my first campsite visitor yesterday and it was Hans. I ignored him since he’s an ape (or yeti) and I don’t like them. He was still there today. I didn’t talk to him this morning. But everything I see online says you have to invite the first visitor to get Amiibo access on the Nook thingy. *twitch* So I just did and he said yes and I talked to Nook and he gave me a housing kit and I set it down at Tadpole Pond (I’m naming the neighborhoods on my island) between Doc and Bangle’s houses. I guess he won’t be so bad? Guten tag! Maybe I’ll get used to him. More likely I’ll kick him off the island and replace him with Rosie or Plucky. I miss them and want them there. I hope Plucky still talks about UFOs all the time. Maybe she'll hula dance in the plaza?

But if you're anything like me, and Able Sisters is opening tomorrow, I'd recommend paying off your house ASAP...my storage is completely filled with clothes now, and each house upgrade increases the storage size. But then I'm ... really into clothes.

I've gotten one on my island so far. No problem with clothing storage but my whole island is filling up with flowers. What kinds do you have? I've got pansies, roses, windflowers, and tulips. Looking for hyacinth, cosmos, and lilies. Hybridizing like crazy too. It's so good that a random villager can't put their house over your flower beds.
I've been spending a lot of time putting down paths while being besieged by balloons. I started with some patterns I found but I think they're a little too dark. So I'm making a path set called "Coral Pebbles" that fits with what I want and the island theme. I'll put up on the kiosk when I'm satisfied with it. Path building and pixel art take so much time but I love just walking around the island without the crunching sound of the grass. Trying to draw tiny little shells with just a few pixels is awesome too.
I finally got Rosie on my island. Next up is Plucky, then June. It takes three days to get them to stay.
