A realization between work

by
I've just landed a new job after a contract ended with the first, and the learning process for the new job has left me in a position where I need to spend less time playing and more time learning the tricks to keep up with the trade. In the meantime, all of this learning has left me with a few interesting thoughts that i'd like to put out before i forget them.

Like this statement:

" I have a taste for a genre combination that is so objectionable that it sparks more negative reaction than vore, gore, dismemberment and death combined:

Cute characters, size difference, and interspecies relationships

I think I'll post that on a wall or something. It won't be changing any time soon...

Anywho, off to work~

Wait, that's more objectionable than vore and gore?

Consider what's being actively banned from social media, or attacked by people who go out of their way to denounce it.

Is it gore? Is it things being brutalized? Nope; it's things that Look young in adult situations.

There's more public outrage today over these things, thus they're much more objectionable. /3c

That's right: Those three things in of themselves sound totally innocent, but as soon as two or more people disagree about "I think this looks underage" and "I think it doesn't" then we have a fuckin' WILD ride ahead of us. If you're in a discord server or something at the time for example, the one who claims it isn't underage will inevitably get banned.

Pretty apt description.  I find it's because the internet doesn't have a blanket term to tell someone to fuck off and mind their own business, and we are living in a media that can only prey upon the little things because it cannot take down the big things.

Hmph, thoughts before a psychatrist session no less.

It's actually really accurate... and it's a bit bewildering that it is the reality we live with

It's true why the mainstream medias still stuck at the white and black good vs evil intention yadayda . artist censorship is still a thing on this era we live in.. i don't understand why people are bichin towards younger looking characters they take it too much seriously cute and young characters has many symbolism and yet they impose judgmental meaning to it and yet tainted the ones who are making it.

I have noticed this for years but thinking about it now I think I finally understand why this is the reality we live in. The main factor causing public outrage isn't how dispicable or disgusting the act is but how much it isn't. People universally in the back of their heads just know that others will know the difference between right and wrong when it comes to rape, physical abuse, snuff, etc so as disgusting as it is they see no need to put effort into getting it banned. When it comes to cute or underage looking characters a lot of people feel the line is much more blurry or that the art doesn't do a good enough job depicting how wrong it actually is (which I tend to actually agree with).

tl;dr:
With rape, physical abuse / gore, and snuff the art already does a really good job showing how disgusting it is but with cub its 99% of the time the opposite and thats why people feel the need to attack cub and not the other stuff.

Yeah, and that's a fine thought to have. Except that it still doesn't make the attacks valid or change the need for services that allow people to opt out of what they don't like. |3c

As an FA refugee of sorts, I was nearly banned on multiple occasions for having small, cute characters engaged in romantic gestures-- not even sex itself! It's overkill to reach beyond children/reality and point fingers at fantasy, and that radical bent has unfortunately become the new social mainstream.

I will start off by saying anyone who would attack your content is a fucking idiot. That said I do think the crusaders have an actual point (at least the ones that aren't blindly following the movement and attacking anyone remotely cute or cubish).

Something I am sure you have noticed if you have been around here long enough is a LOT of the cub content here will treat sexual interactions between adult characters and cubs as something fun. They will ignore all possible consequences both for the adult and the cub (E.g. the fact that it could really screw up the cub, the adult character could go to jail, etc) and go out of their way to make the cubs want the sexual interaction (as if thats how it would work in real life). For the most part no one really ever talks about the difference between fantasy and reality and while it does get brought up sometimes (usually when an artist gets super creeped out by their followers) for the most part everyone is willing to straight up ignore talking about the differences between fantasy and reality cause it kills the mood people are here for in the first place.

I do not think though that the solution is to ban all of us, treat us as criminals, or cast us out. Even if it is actually criminal people will find a way. The real solution is to spread awareness and educate us that our fantasies are not reality. I would like to think the vast majority of the community here is able to make the distinction but for those who can't the content here can actually be pretty dangerous.

Sorry if I am being a bit of a buzz kill. I personally am indifferent to the type of content people enjoy cause I know that people can't help what they like. I do think though that it is important for us as a community to remind eachother that our fantasies are fantasy so that no one we know can have the laps in judgement that causes them to make a mistake that fucks up their or someone else's life.

All it takes for any one of us to cross the line is for us to just once think "it won't actually be bad if I do this" in a situation where "this" could cause actual harm.

Btw sorry for that super long post. I honestly worked myself up way more than I should have (it was nothing you said that caused  me to do that). It was not my intention to start any sort of heated debates so I will probably keep from commenting further. I guess I just needed to get that out of my system.

We already have laws to punish those who take those steps. We don't need social media vigilantes further enforcing opinions beyond the law.

That said though, I do not speak for cub arts. There's a reason I specifically said "Size Difference" and not "Age Difference" or "Age Play," it's not something I'm into or something I draw.

I agree with you there.

Well, internet connected devices were eventually made easy enough for knuckledragging idiots to get online.
Self righteous idiots ruin everything - they shouldn't have been let in.

( for reference, imagine what would have happened if those old fart politicians were allowed to control/censor content in video games long ago, they wanted total bans on violence, language & lewdness. Would've meant stuff like SOTN, Conker, various RPG's, and maybe even Smash Bros games wouldn't have been allowed to be sold, aside from the obvious stuff like fighting, war & chaotic(GTA/etc.) games, then of course most Animes ).

I've always wanted to explore multiple species interacting together, each with their unique biology, sizes, lifespans- But no, everybody's got to be 5'6" and 18+.

Imagine if Human porn was banned in DnD Elf culture, because an 18 year old human is an infant compared to the lifespan of an elf.
