I think if people were given this option. A) nothing change or B) you would make a trillion dollars a year -- but that would just make you middle class. If you have nothing, but was guarantee to be comfortable, I don't think many people would care over the money amount.
The economy could be reset.. where all debt and former wealth goes away and everyone starts a new under a functioning system. The only people who would be against this are those with power who would lose it.
People would say, "Well the dollar would lose value" which would be the point.. to deflate its value and create a new currency. Any issue you could have with trade could be worked out before the inflation to make sure the world isn't destroyed after trying to apply some house keeping
