I rescued two baby mice today!!!

Had an adventure of a day when I impromptly became the bearer of two defensless orphaned baby mice!

i volunteer with a local non profit pet group
twice a month we offer free/ pay what you can vet clinics
so people who are very low income or homeless can get vet care and food for there pets
today was a clinic
and while unloading the truck full of donated pet food , my friend freezes and suddenly goes "OH MY GOD THERES A BABY"
She found not one , but two brand new barely a few hours old pinkie mice
eyes still closed
so tiny
and miraculously , they were alive!
Now , I used to have pet rats , and ive handled pinkies before in my days ,
so I just took the papertowel and the two teensie tiny babys , and looked around. like okay , what am i gonna do with these babies.  there was no mama in site. so two streets over i knew of a pet store that bred and sold mice. they allways had pinkies , and I knew mice mama's are very open to adopting babies. so I tell everyone to hold down the fort , and im gonna take the babies over there.
well I get there with them , only to find that pet store is closed on sundays. theres another pet store in the next parking lot over. they dont carry animals , but i figured maybe they would know of a number we could call. so i keep walking and went to ask them . They couldnt take them , and didnt know anyone to call. so i remmeber one of my friends breeds mice. so im franticly messeging her on facebook like omg  can you help me i dont know what to do with these tiny things.
she says she cant take anything wild into her rescue as she doesnt have a license , but gives me the number to a place that might help. we call them , but they also say we cant take anything wild. no one will take wild mice. even if they are day old pinkies.
before i leave , the pet store at least was able to give me a red solo cup and some softer bedding for them to lay in. so i walk back to our vet clinic and exsplain no one will take them. So as a last ditch effort I figure , well i can try posting in our local buy nothing group. witch connects us with neighbores in the area for help. and through some miracle , someone sees my posts and responds "Let me call the squirrel lady. "
so she calls up her friend , who owns a wildlife rescue , who seems to answer our prayers and says she can come get the babies. she usually didnt do pick ups , but we couldnt get them to her town , and she was closer to us then we were to her place of buissness , so she swung by and picked up the two baby mice. we were so greatful! Shes gonna do everything she can to make sure they survive.
so i had NOT planned to become the impromptu mom of two orphaned mice for a few hours XD But there was no way I was just going to let them die....
ive got a weak spot for squeakers <3  XD But man was it an adventure trying to find them a foster
