moving away from cub art

there are more than a few cub commissions I need to finish but I've stopped posting here since everything I post here goes up on e621 even after I asked people not to post it there

Hey Leosaeta/Seth:
An option/route is to request to be added to e621's Conditional DNP list.

Various examples at https://e621.net/wiki/show/avoid_posting#conditional_dnp
including Vilani "edits are DNP, cub art is DNP, ..."

Potentially you could make it more specific, such as rated-Adult cub art is DNP and rated-Questionable cub art is DNP.

https://e621.net/help/show/ratings

that way rated-Safe cub art can stay at e621 (I'm assuming you would be ok with that)
( example: i like your rated-Safe Brian Griffin and Jasper art at https://e621.net/post/show/1025178/  )

When I wander across furry art in the wild (example: on Telegram, on via random chance at Google Image Search, or uncredited in a YouTube video, or elsewhere)
and I want to find that artist who did it and look at their other art,
I find the usually the best way to find those artist is via e621 (thanks to e621 tags, etc).

(Apologies for putting this as a reply to Podslight, want to increase the chance you see it)

Asked the e621 forum if Conditional DNP for your art of
"rated-Explicit cub art is DNP, rated-Questionable cub art is DNP."
was do-able.

and the member who replied wrote "... CDNP are posting conditions made by artists, they're pretty customizable. So yes if they wanted that they could get it."

its a shame that people cant respect artists such as yourself.  I'm sorry that you have to deal with that

It unfortunately is the wont and will of the internet to do as they please.

If you find a way to avoid it let me know too~

become a DPN artist on e621. I don't know the process exactly but I know you can restrict your art from being posted there.

can't you just put yourself in the avoid_posting list ? moderator will remove any of your art then.

I don't understand why the actions of a few continue to drive artists to punish the majority of their followers.

Yup, makes absolutely no sense why artists do this.  It happens in so many areas, yet never really accomplishes much.

Have you considered talking with the staff at e621 about having your name put on the DNP list, or even the conditional DNP list?  That's usually the easiest way to get people to stop posting your art to e621...

Your art will still be posted to e621 by whoever is doing such no matter what platform you're posting to if you aren't on the DNP list.  Lashing out at the community on a particular website isn't going to fix this.

Yea, DNP would be the best way to avoid it

As everyone said, add yourself to the Do Not Post list. Anyone who attempt to post after that will be barred from doing so. Even banned if they keep attempting. Furthermore everything that was uploaded will be removed.

^ Do this.

No need to go full cop-out over the ordeal when theres a better option available.

Punishing your entire fanbase isn't the answer to a few people being shit heads.

https://e621.net/wiki/show/avoid_posting#get_dnp  here, it describes how to get added to the DNP. And believe me when i say those people ENFORCE the DNP list rigorously . A few twats who can't follow a simple request shouldn't be a reason for you to stop posting specific genres or subjects

Even if you move away from cub art, your art is still amazing and I love seeing it, the soft colors and cool characters are all great <3

i dont really understand the logic : / like isnt there some dnp thing you could do instead or somethin? stopping drawing one kinda thing wont stop them theyll just post your other stuff everywhere

Can't understand why people give things up entirely just because it isn't going entirely the way they want it to. But whatever. Your choice. My personal stance doesn't matter.

I have left the cub art for a long time and by misfortunes someone was uploaded on rule 34, by the way, I never liked e621 others upload my content there but if i upload myself they remove it by a ridiculous reason... without sense.

Edit: Entirely; Or, would you still do Safe for Work Cub stuff?

Don't misunderstand, I'm totally on your side. It's just that ... when you post something nice on the Internet ... you know the rest of the sentence already.

When you then make this a dependency to post more, it's inevitable that you'll be posting less as a result.

It's like putting coke in the refrigerator and expecting it to be lukewarm when you take it back out a day later. It gets cold. It is a refrigerator....

Point in case, you're setting yourself up for disappointment if you depend on others like that.

That's a shame! I hope you'll reconsider in the future, especially because some of them are doing it specifically to make you stop drawing it out of frustration.

Aww well that sucks I really liked your cub art. But you gotta do what you gotta do

This is weird because like, pretty sure that people repost more than just cub art. Feels like there's some underlying reason here that isn't being said.

Why don't you just add yourself to the DNP list?
if you're on the DNP list the moderators automatically refuse the uploads of your art on their site

As much as you hate it and I'm the last person to want to rules lawyer and kick you while your down, the majority of things posted here is free content. I agree with everyone here that people should respect your wishes but at the same time, other people can be jerks and piracy is an issue. You can't change other people but hopefully you can shrug this annoyance off. You might have to hide your cub content behind a paywall like patreon but that website comes with it's own issues and annoying admins who control your account based on content on another website. Happened to AvalonX with his BSC game. You might be stuck with making your own website if all else fails. Contact CelesteSpaniel here on IB to see how a website has helped her. She put the web comic Prototype over there in the last year or so.

Hiding stuff behind a paywall is NOT a solution. Even Pateron only content gets leaked. Not to mention it would piss off A LOT of people
Greywin

I agree, I wouldn't advise it either. I've seen this more often than not work against an artist.

add yourself to the DNP list, telling to not post cub art by you.
if you're on the DNP list the moderators automatically refuse or delete the uploads of your cub art on their site.
The other art goes, but the cub one goes removed.
