Back from ANE + Commission Updates

I'm back from Anthro New England! I had to go straight from working the convention to being back at my outside-my-home job, so I hadn't had a solid quiet day to finish unpacking my bags and update my online things until now. Also I had a birthday in there, surprise! I spent a bit of that day with my husband Toby, just hanging out and playing video games.

So ANE went fantastic this year. It really has become my favorite convention to attend and deal at. The staff are really great, and there were a lot of interesting panels and events to go to. The dealers den itself is spacious and well run, and they checked in with us often to see how things were going. I can't recommend this con enough! It was lovely seeing a lot of familiar faces at this con, and several new faces that I look forward to saying hi to again. Thank you to everyone who stopped by my table to chat. I even had a few people come up and say they've been fans for years, which is wild to wrap my head around.

One thing I want to change for future conventions I'm selling at is to try again at taking commission slots each day of the event, instead of filling all up on Friday. I tried doing this once before and found it really stressful, but I think I'd like to try again after all and see how I can get that method to work out for me. Anthrocon's Artist Alley is the next event I will be selling at live, by the way. I tried for the dealers den, but didn't get in. I'm still on the waiting list so that may change, but I won't count on it. I will also have pieces in the art show again this year, both the general and 18+ sections.

On the more personal side of updates, I've been finding a good balance with art/work/life in the last month, after a lot of trial and error and some unexpected anxiety attacks which are now under control. I'm looking forward to drawing more, posting more art, and just diving back into the furry art scene in general. I've also been working on my computer, which recently blue screened about 8 times in a row and scared me to death. All my files are backed up and safe, so don't be alarmed about that at least. I opened my computer, cleaned out all the dust and checked connections, and then did a fresh install of Windows with a lovely new solid state HD to boot from, and so far it seems like it's done the trick. Fingers crossed!
