Tomorrow marks another year of existence for me. Another year where I've met new friends, family and had some interesting experiences. I'm thankful for each and everyone of them, including the enemies I've made along since they have taught me some lessons about people and shown me who my true friends are. In the past year I've lost friends to drama and family to sickness and I feel like I finally, truly have grieved for all of it properly, thus closing some doors that will stay shut forever. All in all, its been a good year, everything considered; I'm still here, against all odds and I'm with someone who I truly do care about and ironically share the same birthday.
Aside from the nostalgic and emotional stuff, I actually have to take a small break in all seriousness. My computer bit the dust finally during my Christmas break (of course) and the time I took to try and patch it up, I could have spent just rebuilding it, so that's what I'm doing at the moment. I'm sure a lot of you have noticed that I haven't been streaming anymore and there is a reason for that; running anything that took any processing power or had to use the graphics card basically made the display driver crash repeatedly and then the whole computer would black screen. So Sai could 'sometimes' run. with music and discord going, but that is all. Any video games I played (this includes pixelated ones) would have the same effect. Display driver stops working a couple of times, minimizes the game, closes the game, then black screen, then crash. This would happen all the time. Turns out, the graphics card was so old that it just wasn't keeping up anymore. So, I had just enough time to backup all of my files, especially my art and throw it on an external drive until the rebuild. So now, I'm just waiting on a new processor to complete the build and I'll be back to posting and streaming as soon as everything is reinstalled. This is a total computer rebuild.
Once the building process is done, I'll be posting a journal with a heads up to let all of you know I'm back in business. Until then, I may post what I've been sketching in my free time in my sketchbook - that will all be in scraps. This should be the last incident with this computer for a long time, so hopefully, this is the last time I have to do this for a long, long time.
TL;DR - Birthday is coming around, computer is out of commission for a while. Happy that it will be functioning for once afterwards.
