Love is brittle, and fragile. Every waking moment is one which you continue to learn about yourself. To learn about the person you share it with. The boring days and the desolate days on end can be wiped away with a few hours of speaking. Smiling together. Love doesn’t have to be profound or extraordinary. Some people in life are satisfied with an “okay” love, because normally, Okay is enough.
True love, no matter how okay or orthodox it may be, through the eyes of those who feel it strongest know there is a compulsion. Falling in Love is easy. Watching someone else fall in love with you is hard. You feel the weight of that love. You feel the altitude of their high. The words you share become colours which fill rooms and scents which fill your lungs.
Love is a balancing act in which patience and forgiveness are required. Love is when you are able to overcome your hardships simply because you know that what brought you together, and what keeps you together is stronger than whatever in the moment seems to take its’ stab at pulling you apart.
Love is guidance, and independence. You are able to spend hours, even days without one another’s company and that longing is what keeps the pillars, trusses, and foundations full of life. It is those very moments which you come together and the moments in which you were apart are nothing but snapshots. Empty photographs of landscapes, shapes, and hues.
Love is what inspires me to carry myself with kindness. Knowing I am a representation of my lover’s life and equilibrium. Love is being complimented and, to an extent, completed by another person. To accept them within their entirety and receive the same. To be loved for the pieces of you which are both fragmented and whole. To share care for someone with an undying, passionate devotion.
I know in my heart, that this is what love is meant to feels like. Something within tells me, that this is what love is supposed to look like. That love is unconditional, that the weaknesses love brings also brings strength..
