The last journal I made during the summer as really abrupt, and in all honesty, was made when I was really angry at someone specific and I just posted it on a whim. I feel like I should have given my few readers somewhat of an explanation as to why I made my decision after I had time to settle down, but that’s not what happened. Oh well, can’t change the past. Anyway, there’s a long and short version of this, so for those of you just following me because you want to beat off and carry on with the rest of your evening, here’s the to;dr version first:
I work my ass off to make what I view to be legitimately good works of fiction that just so happen to involve scat content, and it seems to get overshadowed by people who have no idea how to write, they just type out a bunch of gross and vulgar terms—but since a lot of people don’t know what good writing actually looks like, they get turned on by the most juvenile forms of writing, so that tends to get about five times as much attention as my stories get. I’ll still be willing to write out paid commissions for stories, trades and the occasional request for people I consider to be close friends, but as for going down the line of my planned stories that I was going to do for free, those are no longer happening. At all.
For those of you who do have any concern for me outside of me making stuff that gets your rocks off, here’s the long version
Earlier this year I joined a Discord server run by a scat artist who I considered a friend for about a year and a half, a server that already had a decent amount of users when I got there, but started growing at a rapid pace over the months—it was like we were building a small army or something, kind of impressive actually. But something I started learning over time was that most of the people there seemed to enjoy scat and other content that focused on cruelty and humiliating situations – more often than not, focused on degrading women. I personally can’t stand degradation as a form of sexual pleasure, it just seems cruel and mean-spirited to me; yes I can incorporate a bit of embarrassment to add some tension or conflict to the story, but I always strive to give whoever’s the subject of such treatment a silver lining to the experience, a “happy ending” so that way it doesn’t feel like they’re doomed to be miserable while everyone watching them gets a massive erection over it.
The other thing people in that server seemed to like were one user’s stories which I would hardly consider stories at all, more like textual vomit in a sense. Basically what he’d do is look at art drawn by other people, say “Ooh, I’m gonna make a story out of that!” then spend two or three hours writing a bunch of repulsive terms and phrases around those characters. I won’t mention this person by name, but if you look up scat fiction on FurAffinity, he’s not hard to find. A lot of his descriptions of scat sequences read something like “her runny rancid sphincter puke” or “her putrid sewage soup” or any string of vulgar words that would make any self-respecting reader gag rather than get aroused. Now you might think to yourself “Well, maybe he’s a new writer, maybe he just needs some time to hone his craft and improve.” Mm, no, that’s not the case at all. He’s been at this for more than a year, and he’s even admitted numerous times that he knows his stories aren’t good, he’s just writing whatever crap enters his mind without any concern for the plot or story. And that sickens me. It’s an insult to what I do, like just because my stories focus on characters pooping, that somehow means I… shouldn’t put effort into them? Really?
So basically what happened was, I was in this server for a while, and happened to not get along with one of the users who regularly spammed his Pokemon OC’s getting mistreated and abused for his sexual pleasure (not saying his name, but come on, I’m pretty sure you can all take a big guess as to who he is), and because he’s a manipulative asshole, he pushed the head of the server against me and had him pretty much put me in his crosshairs for any time I slipped up. After that, I told the amateur writer I didn’t agree with an opinion of his, so the head of the server decided that was enough grounds to kick me out, thus ruining more than a year of friendship, all because I don’t get off to cruelty porn or bad writing.
Suffice to say, that put me in a rather foul mood. I mean, if most of the scat community gets off to watching people get abused, tortured, humiliated etc, or prefers hastily written vulgarity’s written in a day over elegantly drafted narratives that take months to construct, then what is the fucking point? I’m not going to spend 1/3 of a year breaking my back to write a story just so it can get only 1/5 of the attention that “stinky anal soup” gets. That’s fucking ridiculous and I have better things to do with my life than compete with that absolute filth.
Moving forward, does this mean I’ll never write another scat story again? No, it does not mean that. As you just saw, the first chapter of a story request I promised to do went up a little bit ago, so I’ll be uploading the rest of that over the next week or so. I also have one more story I’m halfway done with, but because of the nature of the story, I most likely won’t be able to post it here (might want to check my Inkbunny to see if there’s a link for it: I’ll post another journal here once it’s ready). Aside from that, I’m only going to be doing these types of stories if I’m getting something in return, I.e., money or art. As for the stories that I’d planned to do for free, I might still be willing to do them, but not for free. I might set up a Patreon or a GoFundMe or whatever kind of website (I really have no idea what I’ll use, I’m just throwing those out as examples), put up a poll that says “Here’s a few stories I’m thinking about doing, vote with your wallets on which one you want written” and I’ll write the winner knowing that I’m getting something out of it. I know that sounds selfish, but that’s kind of the point I’ve been pushed to now. I’m out of college, loans need to be paid, as does rent and groceries, and the job I’m working now barely pays me anything, so something’s gotta change.
So there you have it. I’m really sorry it’s come to this point, I know some people are going to be put off by my decision, I understand it, but I also hope some of you will understand that fate has not been kind to me regarding this matter, so this is what I feel I have to do now. I appreciate those of you staying on board, and bid an indifferent farewell to those of you leaving.
