Stan Lee, Hal 9000, and Pokemon live Action Movie

Well, I guess I shouldn't have been surprised as I was, but it still hurt me none the less. Marvel Legend Stan Lee has since left us early this morning at the age of 95. It breaks my heart especially since all of the mistreatment that has happened to him in his later stages of life just because of his wealth. It's a never ending battle when it comes to those situations. All I hope for is that he at least had some happy last moments before his untimely demise in a series of movies that are not going to be the same without him T.T We should at least be grateful that he had made it this far in life. Not many people can live into their 90s, Will Vinton (Stop Motion animator who passed away earlier in October) was only 70. Well, that's the thing about human life, you never know who will die and how young they may be. Such is the way of life. We even lost Douglas Rain, the man who voiced HAL 9000 in 2001: A Space Odyssey, and the freaky thing about this is I just watched that movie last week when we had it in our theaters for our Flashback Cinema. It is definitely one of the most trippy, unusual, mesmerizing, thought-provoking, out of this world space epics I have ever witnessed in my life, and HAL's concept and execution is one of the scariest that I can think of in Cinema history. Douglas' performance is quite deadpan, frightening, but almost enlightening to the point where you almost feel secure in his protection, till he pushes you off into space or kills your entire team of space travelers while they are in a cryogenic sleep. He scares, and fascinates me

Well, other then that aside, lets move on to something lighter, and in some cases a bit uncanny. the new Pokémon trailer was dumped today by Warner Bros for Detective Pikachu, and I gotta say, it is weird looking. Like seriously, the animation for the pokemon just looks iffy. Its trying to be like those shit family live-action/cgi films like Alvin and the Chipmunks, Yogi bear, and Smurfs with that cartoony look mixed with real-ism. It's just uncanny and I can't seem to wrap my head around it. Its as if they hired animators from some of those fan-made pokemon trailers online that use that look but with a bit more polish. Also, Ryan Reynolds, I don't know, I can't seem to click that its him being Pikachu. I just see Deadpool trying to be a Pikachu. I still think it should have been someone like Danny DeVito, it just seems more fitting along with the game. And you wan to know the weirdest part of all of this...….I want to see it. It is such a batshit insane idea that Nintendo is throwing out their with all that has been shown that I feel I want to see more. what are they going to do with it, who else is going to appear, how far will they take the humor, cause they tried some adult humor in it and it kind felt offputting cause they are trying to be edgy with it, but they do have their bits of humor that work with the way they were interviewing a Mr. Mime was pretty clever, and I just want to see what more they can pull off with that. We shall have to wait and see next May.

It's inevitable, and yet I was still like "not this soon..."

As for Pikachu, I'm kinda surprised the movie is being distributed by WB considering they recently gave up TV rights for the anime to Disney. Kinda lost track of it after, but the show's so formulaic, it's not that big a deal.

The movie however, I really wanna see it! I hope it's really good and keeps the ball rolling for Mario down the line.
