Question 2

If say I was only wanting to learn about drawing but not actually take a career for it, would you suggest college classes?  (not the full course, just a few classes)

I'm at a crossroads with this choice. Half the artists I talk to about this says it's a great idea, I'll learn alot, I get to ask questions that I can't find in books, and I'll develop a habbit at drawing.  Yet the other side says I should actually invest a lot of time into just drawing, go with books and tutorials everywhere, actually develop some skill to figure out what your wanting out of your work.  And both sides are correct, but I just want to make sure there's not more I'm missing to this choice.

I've been studying at a university for 4 years so far and this is my view if it.

When taking courses at a university you learn things in a good order because someone experienced in the field has taken their time to figure out what you should be learning and when it is as optimal as possible for you to learn it. I didn't learn a single thing about 3D modelling at university and hence when I wanted to learn it on my own the biggest problem for me was to figure out where the hell I should start and what I should do after that. I spend a ton of time just searching for what I should be learning at the moment. Trying to learn a sub skill of a skill at the wrong time is quite frustrating and demotivating, often it's impossible to succeed because said skill depends on other skills. At the university you don't have these problems.

University also offers good feedback, and feedback is really important for you to grow in any field. Looking at your work and getting the feeling that something is off but not knowing what exactly is off is something feedback is prefect for.
This is exactly why I often write in my descriptions that I want the viewers thoughts and comments, it help A LOT. Communicating with other students and comparing your solutions also is very helpful.

For me the biggest problem with university was the stress, people expect a ton of work from you, (at least my university did) so if you're going to university you should be ready to spend quite some time on it.

Another nice option is to find a website that sells tutorials, youtube is great in the beginning but when you are interested in learning more advance techniques it might not have anything at all.
