My last artist alley review for 2018

Hey Kitty here. Well this wraps up another year of vending for me in 2018. (TBD) This will be my reviews for the last three cons I did before my season ended. I will start from the earliest to the latest and I will tell you all the good, the bad and the weird things about my experiences. So here we go.

Lock City Comic Con-  Lock City Comic Con was my last convention in July. I will just say this July in itself was a very odd month for cons. but on to the good...It was nice to see another con besides Connecticon in CT. The people at the con were really nice. I had three awesome neighbors that helped me out when I was in distress. I had a little trouble with my set up. I even became friends with one of them on Instagram. My partner and good friend. She really helped me out and made some really good calls on my booth set-up. Now, I have my favorite booth set-up. I met some cool new people, and rekindle some older friendships. Overall a very comfortable atmosphere especially, when we were almost late to the event. ><  Now, for the bad,....I was expecting a bigger turnout. I believe this was the 3rd year for the con and when I think of the 3rd year the venue would show gradual growth. But then again I wasn't present for the previous years. As for the artist alley. I'm use to see them separate from the dealers room. It felt a little cluttered. Again this is something I'm just not use to. Other than that, I think this are mostly nit picks. I'm still on the fence on whether or not I would come back. If it showed a bit more growth maybe. And Now for the weird....I was asked if I would trade one of my art pieces for a reading by a customer. Like a palm reading....never had that experience before. So there was that. ^^ I told you guys I have some weird experiences at some cons.

WGGcon - This was my 1st con of the September month. A dear friend runs this con every year, and I'm more than happy to help him out anyway I can. So for the good. The atmosphere is great. Each year its been getting better and better with the attendees. The diversity in it is wonderful. The games are always fun and the food is great. I had a lot more customers this time around. Now for the bad, nothing against the con itself or the actives within it. However, I'm not sure if my booth can thrive towards this type of audience. You see, this con is strictly for gaming members, more specifically table top gaming. The audience range still has aways to grow in diversity and I'm more of a traditional, anime based artist who tries to cover all branches. Challenging but still tries to cover them nonetheless. So with that, I'm not sure I will return to this one as an artist. As an attendee, I would love to come back. Now for the weird, a mother and baby came by my booth. The mother was admiring the artwork. The baby was crying and fussy the whole time until she saw my albino Vaporeon plushie. Her eyes grew really wide eyed at them. This was adorably weird.

Last but not least this pass con......

Mt. Vernon library Comic con- This was my last con for the season and boy this was one heck of away to end the artist alley season. Like Hudson valley Comic con which was a wonderful start for the vending season for me. This was a great way to end it. For the good.....I don't know where to start.  These guys are most hospitable con I have been to. They make sure vendors and artist alley members were attended to for anything that they needed. Everybody was very helpful with placement. Especially, when me, my partner and my bf was feeling a bit confused. This was the most busy I have been in my 2 years of running a booth. It made me so happy that everybody really loved my work. I sold a decent amount at this con and even got a shout by the MC. Everybody enjoy my cosplay and things ran smoothly throughout the day. Lastly,...SHURI BUTTONS SOLD OUT!!!!! Oh my goodness, my first debut of my Black Panther Buttons and Shuri sold out. I never had that happen before, especially in one. Its pretty crazy. Now for the bad stuff....there is not really a lot bad things I can say about this con. But there is one thing I felt that they needed more of and that is vendors. I feel compared to last year there were more vendors. I know that is a little nitpicky but it will grow over time.

Overall I feel I had a good run this year. I learned a lot and
I hope next year will be smarter and better. ^^ I want to thank you guys for all the support and love that you have shown for the past two year. I hope to entertain you guys more in the near future.
