So I know I have already posted the first pair of piece but I thought I would do a quick journal to talk about my little personal project.
I have been a fan of the Sonic and Amy pairing for over ten years now. Even as a child I liked couples where there was a fight for affections; where one character thorough loved another or there was a strong game of "will they won't they". Helga and Arnold, Mulder and Scully, Fry and Leela, Daphne and Niles, Ed and Winry. Amy and Sonic are the only two who haven't (and likely never will) hook up, so perhaps that is why I have stayed enamored with this pair.
Since I now live alone I found myself really getting back in to the fandom. I discovered Sonadow and Shadamy and my world got ever so slightly confused!
So this project is going to be two things. Mostly it's for me to practice my art and my writing. I notice people who draw comics get better and better with each passing chapter. Yes learning art is a big help, but so it to just keep going for it. This project will force me to do images I will have to work on, that I will struggle on. At the same time I work full time so have no time for a full comic, so it will be an image together with a fic to explain.

Now to explain the couples. I like them all for different reasons, and each have their flaw. Sonic and Amy are my forever couple, but only once they're older. If you read the IDW comics, Amy is being portrayed perfectly as a growing character. She still loves Sonic, but the "psychotic crush" is no more and they can appreciate each other. Sonic fears being tied to anything, but again at his younger age he will. They grow together, and find life hard without the other.
Shadow and Amy are mutually a better couple from a younger age. She sees the best in him, he does not have any doubts about her abilities. He has no concerns about trying to calm her temper and she will call out his actions. However...they are not forever. I think they would love each other, and for Shadow that would prove difficult, because he knows he will outlive any family. As a pair he would break her heart, but only to try and save them both from sadness. He cannot grow with her.
Sonic and Shadow. Sex. I don't see romance between these two, but sexual tension is higher than any pairing I've ever liked. Now please understand this is how I see this pair, I have no desire to fight about how 'in love' they are or can be because that is YOUR call. I am happy to see them loved up in other peoples art, but it is not what I see. They clash, Shadow has a wiser look on the world while Sonic seems to take what he has for granted. Much life with Amy, he knows he will outlive Blue. They wrestle for dominance without a mediator.
The "Three" story arc is how these three combine and find the right way to live for them. I won't explain that here, I'll save it for my submissions, but now you know where it all starts in my fuzzy little noggin.
