Update on Babysitting Cream and other projects

I've been getting a lot of PMs from people inquiring about the Babysitting Cream flash game.  Unfortunately I do not have good news right now about that topic.  Now understand, we are not quitting this game nor are we abandoning this project.  Aval0n is busy right now trying to get his life in order which has made communication between him and I scares right now.  I've been working on the babysitting game little by little, but there is just no point posting an update without Aval0ns approval on the game or his artwork to add to it.  I REALLY really hate saying this but until his life is in order the game of on hiatus.

I know that's not what everyone wants to hear but we currently have no choice on the matter.  I'm merely posting this because I'm getting swamped by private messages and comments asking if the babysitting game will be coming out soon.  In the mean time I'm focusing my skills on other small and simple projects.  I've made some progress on my pokemon game with the help of others.  I haven't had much motivation to continue to the school days game though.  While the reviews on it has been good, I've received a lot of hate concerning the format of the game.

I wanted to create something esoteric, a love letter to adventure games from an era past but it seems not everyone wants to play something like that.  I'll figure out a way to streamline the mechanics if that's what people want to see, but it's kind of killed my motivation to continue the school days snowed in game for the time being.  Anyway I hope this answers your questions about Aval0n and I's current situation.  If you have anymore questions please post them in this journal.

*huggles* I've been keeping an interested eye on all those projects, and would love to see any of them completed, so however long it takes, I look forward to any progress!

I was rather fond of the SD demo.  It harkened back to the days of verb-the-noun adventuring.  Guybrush forever!
Anyway, I look forward to seeing what you come up with; good things come to those who wait, as they say.
Oh, if I may ask -- when you do turn your attention back to the Cream game, could you add a gallery option?  It'd be nice to admire all the images we may have unlocked. :)

I LOVE oldschool adventure games, played through the demo for the first time today, and I like it a lot. The only thing I'd change to the format (for now) is making bare-click be look/walk. I know a lot of the later old school adventure games went that route. I can understand why a lot of people who are too young to remember Maniac Mansion and Monkey Island etc. would take issue. but if you could streamline the system a bit I'm sure it would please newschool fans while keeping that oldschool adventure game charm and sophistication. If you haven't playe them there is a great newschool adventure series by yahtzee, and  another great game (forget who made it) called no action jackson.

As for Aval0n, I hope his situation improves, I've really enjoyed seeing the progress with the game, but I can wait for him to get his life straight. Priorities are important! I haven't actually seen the pokemon game yet, I'mma have to check that out next.

While this may not be the news we wanted to hear, it is news, which is better than continued silence feeding the rumor mill.

Thanks for the info, hope things will improve relatively soon.

this makes sence and we all support you but I have to voice my fears.

I have seen so meny games with fantastic promiss stall and DIE exactly like this. Please dont let that happen =p take as long as you need but if you can, promiss the fans that you will nither let this die nor cop out and half ass the game to be done with it. It happens far to often :_:

thanks for the update.  All of your's and Aval0n's fans thank you.  And, thanks for giving us these updates while Aval0n (rightly) is busy dealing with the issues that have come up.  I think he picked his collaborator well, because you are so well at handling the rabid fans following this game when life intrudes, and he has to deal with other things.

As to your school days game, I think what you have shown us so far is great.  It reminded me of all of those old, great verb-noun games.  I say leave the system for gameplay alone, it is great the way it is, with maybe some more good jokes thrown in when you make choices that lead to them.  (I liked your comment when I told the character to use the toilet)

Anyway, keep up the excellent work, and I think I can speak for a lot of us when I say, take your time to make it right.

I will wait until it's finished. I like the game as it is now but I want to see how it will be when it's finished. Hopefully Aval0n brings his live in order in short time. Maybe we get a little present from you/him by christmas. :3 Dear Santa, that would be awesome! !

I like the school days game, honestly.  The mechanics need a bit of tweaking, such as being able to simply walk to a room without having to open the door...I think that step is implied.  And maybe a slightly easier way of moving around.  Other than that, I like it, and hope you find the motivation to continue.  Those that hate on the game, and everything it stands for, probably don't like the classic point-and-click games anyways.

As for the Aval0n update, thank you.  I'm sorry to hear that he's in a bad way right now, and hope that he can get things worked out.  I feel for him, I wasn't doing so well recently myself.  I look forward to hearing good news on that front as well.

I personally love the whole old fashioned format, though I do find it a bit of a pain there's no map, then again I don't think it really needs one. I love the old games like Monkey Island and if working on this will help inspire you for later things then that's fine, I know how hard it is to be inspired on something when loads of people are pushing but don't worry I'm sure it'll be great when you get to it :)

Real life definitely takes precedent, don't worry about that!

I thought the adventure game setup in the School Days thing was pretty cool, I'd certainly like to see more stuff like that, but I guess I can only speak for myself.

I'm very sad that you're stopping work on the School Days project.  I guess a lot of people just want a quick hit and if there's no sex right away they get impatient. But your work is fantastic and the main reason I like your work is because you're actually making GAMES.  Like real games that are amusing to play and are engaging.  Don't give up!

Awwww and I actually found the School Days game to have some interesting potential. I actually like it so far. I hope you feel motivated to continue it eventually.

And for Aval0n, RL comes first. Best of luck and good fortune to him.

hope everything works out... so looking forward to an update on the babysitting game . and really was hoping for an update on the snowed in as well.. i like the old school mechanics makes you have to pay attention and truly look at everything and try everything to see what works... don't listen to the haters with ADD they need to go play the cheesy worthless M&F games. the best part of your games is the feeling of accomplishment when you get to do something new or find something new to do. you don't get that much in games anymore... beating the challenge is the best part, and having to work for it instead of having it handed to you makes all the better. only comment on the babysitting game is if you guys could put in like a new game+ option where you can start with the stuff you already collected and like half stats from previous game or some thing to try and collect everything and do everything would be awesome. love what you guys do and looking forward to anything else you/you guys do

Personal opinion? Don't worry about what people want to play. Worry about what you want to make. Making games that people wanted to play resulted in the Halo trilogy. Making games for the sake of making them resulted in Cave Story, Spelunkey, half of Tim Schaeffer's library, and Dwarf Fortress.

tl;dr - I love the Snowed In game, and would love to see you continue work on it.

Regarding the Schools Days interaction mechanics...aside from having to click on the 'walk to' button rather than simply clicking on a location I wanted to walk to, everything else seemed straight forward (even-though I'm more into the Lucas 'Kings Quest' style, but that's more or less the only type of adventure game I played back in the day). The art itself is nice, as is the BGM, plot, and, albeit sparse, the puzzles. It'd be fantastic if you continued to work on this. While I'm not sure you put much stock in what a random guy commenting on a journal entry may have to say, personally, I'd love it if you included some aheh...more...male on male...stuff... in there. Anyways, thanks for sharing what you've done so far guy, everything is top-notch.

I liked School Days a lot. I am not a very active member in this community but really I would play anything. I came here kind of on a whim and had been a fan of the Babysitting Cream game for a few months and I couldn't find any material that I could get to readily available. But something like Babysitting Cream really has opened my eyes to the possibilities and this community. I'm not sure how many of my compatriots feel but I don't always look for stuff just to jack-off sometimes I just like to play the game and that is kind of how I feel about School Days is that its not a tool for masturbation as much as just a game with some furry in it. I appreciate you and everyone  that makes quality flash games for this community.

Just stumbled onto this site and found it very interesting.  May I ask, if it is allowed, what are and where can the games you nice folks mentioned be found?  They sound like fun and I rather liked the old 'Kings Quest'.

As far as BC, I too am awaiting further progress, but alas, RL does intrude on our other desires.  Take your time and get the important stuff in your life done first and all the rest will fall into place.

I was kind of bored, so I opened up the BC game in a flash decompiler to see if I could figure out exactly what stats are needed to get certain results, and while I didn't find that info, I found some interesting flags in the scripts representing some as-yet unused inventory items.

Looks like there are some interesting twists in store for us when this project finally reaches the next beta release. ;)

You should just ignore the hypocrite that are hating on the School Days game. These type of people usually are at a high level of autism.
