This might get a bit heavy.
I'm very thankful for what was actually a quiet year, for me. Few rough spots here and there, but overall... Pretty level.
But, a lot of bad things happened, some of them maybe a little too close to home. I'm lucky, that I can be thankful those bad things did not harm myself or those close to me. Others, are not so lucky.
Many families will have untimely empty seats this year.
While I am sorry for their losses, I'm thankful for the heroes that did their best to prevent further losses.
If you have the space, consider setting an empty place at the table in solidarity for those families.
I hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving, and that we can coast to the end of the year in peace and quiet.
