- The defenders : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Defenders_(miniseries) The so-long announced crossover of the four Netflix marvel series arrived, and gods, it's good. It redeem Ironfist but making him less a whinny bitch (especially since the series is the direct sequel to his main storyline). The first two episodes are just set-up for the team-up, which is good, taking your time to set things right before going in. I really enjoyed it a lot. 4,25 barks out of 5
- Lucky Luke : go west https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Go_West!_A_Lucky_Luke_Adv... I grew up on what is called the French-belgian graphic novels, Asterix, Tintin and of course Lucky Luke. So, a big movie production on my favorite cowboy ? I was eager for it. To pad the runtime, they put together three different books together, which can be a good idea. Sadly, they missed the target quite a bit. Lots of the funniests moments of the books are removed, more modern jokes are added, the whole Dalton plot is forcing so to have the most popular characters of the series in the show while not... really being interesting. I'm not surprised this made a flop in theaters. It sadly not more worth tgan 2 barks out of 5... they had great material but didn't put it together right.
- Harry potter and the cursed child : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Potter_and_the_Curs... Being written as a play made it fast and easy to read, but sure took away all the stuff like buildings, expressions, costumes and so on. That didn't helped getting in the mood. The predictable story and the use of ... time travel... again... didn't sold it for me. It's not a bad story and it's nice to see the characters and their relations being developped, including with their children, but one can expect more from Harry Potter. I only give it a 2,75 barks out of 5
- Game of thrones season 7 : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_of_Thrones Since a few seasons, the show has been quite predictable, mostly because it has to catch up with all the forgotten plotlines and then rushing toward the predicted end. It is really obvious in this season, with some big reveals long coming, you can feel also the third dragon prophecy plotline rushed and all that. But, you know what ? It doesn't matter. The visuals are superb, the acting super goods and the drama all over. I enjoyed this season a lot, and am looking forward to the next season. 4 barks out of 5
- Wonder woman : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wonder_Woman_(2017_film) Another DC movie... part of the suckastic DC movieverse which gave us bad Man of steel, horrible Batman VS Superman and meh Suicide Squad. So, basically, from the start it has a lot to make up for, with all those super bad movies preceding it and making brooding and dark all they are about ... But, this movie is totally the opposite of all those. They treat the subject with mature, interesting and creative solutions. The acting is good, the storyline nice (I do think they made it ww1 instead of ww2 to not be compared to Captain America) and the only default is the bad guy (when you have Ares, god of war, you need someone that looks the part when not in disguise...). 3,75 barks out of 5 Please, DC learn something from this movie...
- Dinotrux season 5 : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dinotrux Like the 4th season, it's more an half season than a real season. They have decided to bring more fights and more actions (which, according to people online, isn't what they expected, they wanted a toddler kid show without any drama. Myself I prefer it that way) and stories about being kicked out and bullied. It's sadly short but they go through only two plot arcs during the run, keeping it quite focused. Still a good show for kids. 3,5 barks out of 5
- Elementary https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elementary_(TV_series) So, the first thing to do when you think of Elementary is to compare it to the other Sherlock Holmes in modern time show, Sherlock. It's not a good idea, for the different formats create totally different constraints and as such it would be unfair to compare them to each other. Also, Elementary (despite never using the term itself) isn't really a Sherlock Holmes adaptation, contrary to Sherlock. The second one is basically the original story with a modern twist, while the first one is modern stories with a few Sherlock Holmes references. You could renamed all the characters and nothing would be changed. Now, as a show, it is good. It has trouble with overall plot arcs (the set-up rarely deliver) but the stories themselves are nice, the characters well fleshed and the acting good. 4 barks out of 5
- All hail king Julian (exiled season 5) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_Hail_King_Julien This season get a different opening in song every episode and one, unique, storyline for all the episodes and features every character we have met so far. As such, it is one coherent whole and really amusing story. It's a bit easier to have only one plot, so you don't have to juggle with anything else, but it is also hard to keep it going for one whole season. Overall, it was a really enjoyable season but it kinda feel it's an ending with such a big storyline. Will see if they keep it going for more. 3,75 barks out of 5
Now, I'm a bit bored... i'm watching Killjoys, but it doesn't entertain me like Elementary did. If anyone has suggestions for shows, I welcome it.
I'm watched shows who had ended years ago in previous reviews, the forge isn't a serie, it's a competition show, I don't have any interest in those.Las Vegas RatRods same.. bones and down ward dog seems tempting.
