Ink Bunny needs new support.

I've dealt with a lot of crappy customer support people, but when you see a journal get too heated and decide to report it for a rule violation, you generally don't expect to support team to use your own posts to justify doing nothing. The original post doesn't even matter anymore. I submitted a ticket nearly 2 weeks ago and got this yesterday.

"That is what is represented and warranted to us by submitters when posting, yes.

As far as we can gather, this submission was attacking an idea as harmful, not an individual or even a group of people. It is not harassment, nor an expression of intolerance or hatred towards specific individuals, or even a group - instead it's "this educational policy harms children who are not in a particular group; we should stop promoting it".

Whether the poster was right is hotly contested, but we're not keen on the idea that the expression of such views is, in itself, harmful. Freedom of speech is considered valuable in most democratic societies - with the exception of speech which incites people to imminent violence - because it allows everyone to point out the benefits and flaws of ideas, both before and after they are enacted.

If an idea is bad, it should be possible to convince others that it is bad, and stop it from happening in the future - but you can only do that if the idea can be expressed. Likewise, if an idea is good, you're only going to convince people of that if you can talk about it. The ensuing debate - which you contributed to, and remains available despite some arguably inflammatory language on your own part - has raised many points which should help readers to make their own minds."

Yeah, I had already forgotten about the stupid journal I submitted about. This response would have been weak at the time, but it is down right stupid near 2 weeks after the fact. Jeeze, Ink Bunny. I like how you went and saw my comments, but didn't even realize some were direct quotes from the topic creator pasted back at him. "inflammatory language on your part". How petty. I'll be sure to submit tickets when I want to see how a system can screw something up.

Oh, and before you start with me, IB. I'm not harassing any particular support member. I mean, I don't even know who sent that two week late dribble. I'm only attacking the idea that a support team can be this inept. Freedom of speech and all.
