Hi All!
I haven't died, just recovering from my disappointment in KFP 3. The TiPo thread was utterly ignored and the villain was a joke. I'm never trusting Guillermo del Toro again. I've never really liked any of his films, despite them being praised by many... IMO his involvement in the 3rd KFP film wrecked the franchise.
His villain design and the general supernatural premise was amateurish and way below the standards KFP 2 reached. The stage was set for a terrific third film that could have set up any number of deep and enjoyable themes and threads... Celebrating Chinese culture and beliefs... instead we got a film only good for young children who like pretty colours.
I'd say I hope KFP 4 can claw back credibility, but given KFP 3's box-office take across the world (140 million behind KFP 2), I doubt the studio will take the risk on a fourth film now. Best I can find online is a 2020 release date and no other information. Last time KFP 4 was talked about (by people who have credibility), was before the release of KFP 3. I remain pessimistic.
A.
