~~The Night the Moon stood still~~
'It has been four years since Princess Luna gave me this house and Winter come to live here with the twins, their faces where priceless, since then nothing really changed, well maybe that she branded her coat of arms on my and my soldiers armor and I’m not late as often as I use to be. I think that the Princesses are happy about that especially Princess Luna, probably because I'm under her command. Speaking of the Princesses I have sensed some underlining animosity coming from Luna directed towards Celestia! I have been noticing that there has been a lack of appreciation to Luna for a while, but nothing enough to cause her to hate Celestia. Maybe I should talk to Princess Luna about this, see if I can hopefully cool down this situation.' was the some what panicked thoughts of one General Frost 'The Turtle' Tundra.
The general made his way down the tower stairs, since its the only way up or down he had asked some powerful unicorns under his command to enchant the tower so that only his blood may open the tower. He had it placed after one twins almost got her head cut off by one of the old weapons up there. Not even the Princesses can enter without his blood or permission. Since the enchantment the tower became very much air-tite, so he placed a few trees inside to keep the air fresh. So when he finally reached the bottom of the stairs and walked out of the tower closing the heavy door, so when he heard the click of the locks he headed to the kitchen for some lunch, or at least a muffin. He was a little surprised to find nopony home and on the counter he found a note saying that Winter and the twins went shopping, so just grabbed a banana nut muffin, and headed out to the palace for a discussion with Luna.
~~Meanwhile at the Palace 12:00 A.M.~~
'I can't believe this! There is no excuse for this. For them to forget about me and only thank Celestia about Discord's defeat, then to sleep through my nights and only enjoy the day! I see what this is Celestia your jealous of me, that I have something that you don't. It seems I can only trust my dear General Frost, that and my...soldiers...hmm, I believe I have a solution to my problem. If I can not have their love I will have their fear and respect.” came Luna's ranted thoughts.
As she finished, Frost entered her chambers “Princess, I’m sorry for intruding, but you did not answer when I knocked I was worried, something happened.”\stated Frost
“All is well, dear general what do you need?” replied Luna
“Princess...
“Luna.”
“Wha?”
“I would like for you to call me Luna from now on. And I need you to assemble the soldiers, I believe its time for a demonstration of power.” as she finished that sentence something started to happen, something horrible. Luna's coat turned from light lavender to dark purple, near black, and her cutie mark changed, the white crescent moon turned light blue and it's background turned purple. Then her mane and tail changed as well, from light blue to something similar to Celestia's own more like a dark haze filled with stars.
“L-luna?”
“No, not any more my dear general, I am Nightmare Moon, but your ruler all the the same. Why just look at your Coat of Arms in my colors.” and when looked to see, it was true, it turned from Luna's colors to hers. And that meant that she was his commander. But, Luna is his commander. But, now the CoA changed to this? “General, I do believe I ordered you to assemble your soldiers.” stated the newly named Nightmare Moon
“What happened to Luna! Where is my princess! Tell me now!” Frost demanded from this imposter.
“Why General, your princess is right here, ME! You bear my CoAs witch means you swore fealty to me. So, my general gather your soldiers, now.” commanded Nightmare Moon
And like any good soldier he felt a compelling need to follow that order, just like when he was ordered by Luna. He didn't want to believe that his Luna had become, this. 'Wait my Luna? Where that come from?' came the distressed thoughts of Frost 'Okay, something bad has happened to Luna. I have to tell Celestia, but I can't betray Luna no matter what she has become. I sorry Celestia, but I follow my princess even if I have kill my heart to do it, no, no I don't have to because Luna is my heart. Heh, no wonder I can't betray her, I love her.'
~~The Military Barracks for General Tundra's troops 1:32 A.M.~~
“Attention, attention, General in the Barracks! All soldiers report to the Declaration Hall!” came the voice one of the officers running to wake up all men.
25 minutes later, all soldiers reported to the Declaration Hall witch itself was used for three things. Soldiers getting promoted to an officer rank, awards and metals, or rallying for war. Since nopony has earned a metal or promotion, its a war rally.
“Soldiers! Tonight, Princess Luna has ordered me rally you for war!” Shouted General Tundra
All the soldiers cheered for a chance to fight and conquer an enemy of the state.
“Tonight we march to Canterlot for further orders, so put on your armor and ready, If you have noticed the change of Princess Luna's Coat of Arms it's because we are her personal guard, the best soldiers in the military! Stand up and be proud of that!” at the end of his speech they were all cheering with pride. There wasn't many in Luna’s guard maybe 200 stallions, of the three races. Canterlot's garrison was around 3,000 troop and most have never seen combat or just came out of training. 'Wonder who has the most real soldiers. If what I think is going to happen I hope that none of the soldiers abandon the fight before it happens.
~~Hilltop over looking Canterlot 2:45 A.M. ~~
“What took you so long General?” asked Nightmare looking somewhat mad he took so long.
“I apologize, but I had to motivate the men, they are slightly confused on why they're marching to Canterlot so early in the morning, as am I, though I might know the answer already.” confessed Frost
“Oh, you do, do you, then prey tell what am I doing having my dearest general march my personal guard to Canterlot in the middle of my night?” Nightmare said with a smirk.
“A coup, your going to attempt to overthrow Celestia. Am I right?”
“Yes, I am. And shall take what is rightfully mine!” declared Nightmare
“*sigh* Figured as much, but I will continue to follow you until end.” promised Frost
“Good, now tell the men what they are doing here.” ordered Nightmare
“Yes, my Princess.” he walked over to the edge over looking the men to address them “Men, today we are here to make history we are going to take Canterlot castle!” the murmurs of disbelief evident in the crowd, “I know that it sounds impossible, but we are the better soldiers, we deserve Canterlot more as true warriors, we fight in what we believe in! We fight for our Princess!” the cheers were very loud, “Integrate with the regular patrols, and when you see the signal, a magic flare over the castle, attack, and only attack soldiers, no civies, take prisoners we'll need them. Now, GO!” With that they went to sneak into the city to do their general and their princess' biding. “Do you want me to go with you or stay with the soldiers then meet you there?'
“Stay with the men, I'll enter afterward.” she ordered
But little did they know one officer wasn't going to attack, but warn the princess about the attack on the palace before it could cause any damage.
'I can't believe that the general would betray the Princesses, especially Princess Luna!' were the frantic thoughts running through his head.
~~Palace 3:03 A.M.~~
“Halt, what is your purpose here?” asked the palace door guard.
“I have important new the Princesses need to hear right now before its too late!” came the frantic reply
“What is the news? If seems important than we'll let you through.” asked the same guard
“Its General Tundra, he's going to try to overthrow the Princesses!' he yelled
“Tundra? As in General Frost Tundra?”
“Yes, he sent Luna's honor guard to infiltrate the palace to take the palace in one feel swoop!”
“Alright, let's go. You go to the barracks and tell them to go on full alert.” he said then commanded the other guard.
Once they arrived infront of Celestia's room the guard pounded on the door and once they got 'come in' they entered.
“Princess we have problem!” yelled the door guard
“I know, I sensed an evil and powerful magic outside the city. You, are you not one my sister's general's soldiers?”
“Yes, I am. General Frost just came to the barrack and said that we were going to war, but he didn't say who until we were a mile out of the city. Also there was an Alicorn with him.”
“What! An Alicorn,but the only known Alicorn is the Princesses. Where did he find one?”
“Guard, where is my sister? I have yet to see her tonight.”
“Sorry Princess, I don't know. Maybe she'll turn up later.”
“*sigh* I hope she's alright. Guard, has the barracks been alerted of the situation?”
“Yes Princess! I sent another to the barracks to warn them of the attack.”
“Good, I want Tundra here alive for questioning. You describe this Alicorn yo saw with the general.”
~~Canterlot town square 3:34 A.M.
Walking through the town square was Frost with two unicorns, and three earth ponies. 'Where are the patrols we would've at least seen one by now.' “Keep your eyes peeled, somethings not right here.” warned Frost. Soon they came to a stop at a four-way. “Halt, Sargent do you sense anything?” frost asked the first unicorn.
“Gimme a sec, wait wha- EVERY ONE GET DOWN!” as soon as he said that a hail of crossbow bolts right where they were. Two of the three earth ponies got hit and so was the unicorn that warned them.
“General Frost Tundra, surrender now we have you surrounded! If you come quietly we'll bring the soldiers who were hit to the first aid station!” and true to the speaker's words they were completely surrounded, trees, building tops, and the streets covered with soldiers armed with crossbows. 'Crap, there's no way out of this, I'm sorry Luna I failed you.' As Frost looked over his squad he saw that he needed to save his men, and with a deep guilt growing in himself he responded.
“I'll come quietly.” he stated.
AN: OH CRAP, Frost got captured. I wonder what'll happen next now that he captured? Well you can guess but only I know fOshO fU!
