My fellow furries! I desperately implore you to read this, and hopefully help me find a story I have not remembered consciously for years until now! It was a chronicling of a tale written years ago. I know a little about it, and can share what details I have, but please, I really need some furry authors/readers who know about this sort of thing to help me out. It’s driving me insane.
Years ago, I read a story chapter by chapter that was written from the perspective of a female anthro furry who had been chased, through a storm, into our world. She had to learn how to speak english, after a man in the woods had found her and dried her fur. The website I read it on had an amber background, kinda… papery texture. The text wasn’t black, as far as I recall. There were other stories, too; mostly about ‘taurs, as far as I can tell.
Anyway! This woman slowly learned how to speak english, and the story was very good at making you feel how much time had passed. At some point, she learned how to ask for things, like food and water, and even painted in a glade near where she and the man who had found her had met. She painted the valley below; she painted how it had been in her world, a bustling metropolis of sorts, far more populated than what she had found when she got to our world. This is why she couldn’t find her way home; everything looked the same, but… different.
Her favourite time of year was halloween; she hung her head out of the car window and didn’t have to wear a disguise. People commented on how well she had prepared her costume. Eventually, they had mutual friends; all of them human, obviously, and some who took it better than others. I believe the name ‘Ruby’ or ‘Gold’ somehow works into it, but honestly my memory is… very, very fuzzy.
Please, if any of this rings a bell and you find a thread leading to more, do let me know. I desperately want to find this piece of fiction again. I may even offer a reward for those who lead to its capture finding.
