I don't know how to roleplay

Hello,
As those who may not know I'm a wolf with autism and  one of things that I want to try is Role play. Unfortunately I don't know how to role play to be honest with you. If any body can give me any tips I can.

I hope by now you've some RP experience of your own (if so take my tips for what it is worth, if not well it might help you!)

hmmm, although it has been a while since I last done the tips I would give are:

- First off, find a partner. It may sound a tad obvious, but is easier to get started with someone who is looking for or interested in the same kind of rp as you. It's much easier than jumping into an already existing rp (in for example chatrooms) and a lot of things can go wrong then. There are many places to find them (f-list, some people advertise it on their inkbunny profiles, litphora, etc.)

- Secondly, if you find someone you want to play with, but that person is not interested: don't get disheartened. People are like that, thank them for their time and move on. You'll find your partner.

- Thirdly, on a side note, try and get a nice picture of the character you want to be playing. It's odd, and it may be me, but a nice picture of a character always helped me get my creative juices flowing (plus you have something to go off of if you need to describe you or your partner =3)

As for the rping itself; it can greatly depend on the partner. Some people like to take it slow, others like to jump right to the point. Again partner selection, find someone that fits your play style (don't go for someone who likes posting 7 line posts if you only prefer one-liners, it will only frustrate the both of you). As for me:

- Setting up a story. I like it, I prefer it. Doesn't have to be all detailed, but personally it seemed weird if my character just suddenly fell out of the sky and into a story. If you both agree you want an introduction, try telling how your character is arriving at the place it all occurs (can be just a few lines) sets things up.

- Details. Again, personal preference, but I like them. They give spice to the story. And remember details are about being specific, not necessarily adding the most adjectives you can to a sentence. 'A big, green, deep, dark forest' is detailed, but can get annoying in the long run. a 'dark forest filled with ancient spruce trees' is a lot more interesting (I show 2 specific things: a forest (which is dark) and I show the trees (which are spruces and they are ancient)

- Show don't tell. It's a writing cliche, but it's only a cliche because it is true. Saying 'I fall' is not half as engaging as: 'my foot gets caught behind a rock, the sudden jolt sending my body tumbling forward'.

Wouw... a lot more text than I had planned on. I hope it helps!

and a TL;DR, my tips summarized:
- find a partner that matches your play style (you can find them in all sorts of places!)
- If you want to play with them, but they don't, don't get disheartened, but thank them and find someone else.

- Ways to RP are very personal but I like:
   - a story that is, at least moderately set up.
   - A story that is detailed (which is more than just adding adjectives to things)
   - Show don't tell.

Again, hope it clarifies and helps you get started!
